I know about ffxiv not being an upgrade =p just kidding about 'being in the final fantasy scene',
And, eh, I read the sticky's, and most part of ffxi wiki, so I think I know all the basic stuffs.

The best teacher will always be personal experience though.

Generally it's a very good idea to check the wiki when you're unsure of something, but when in doubt just go ahead and do it. It's just a game after all (with perspective to what you're trying to accomplish of course; i.e. don't experiment with a job combo you've never tried during a major mission for example)
