    Ucs-4001

    so, I downloaded the trial version of this game. pain in the posterior to do so.
    then I applied for a registration code. pain in the posterior to do so.
    big surprise, the registration code doesn't work.
    a little help here? does the code take a little while to get in their system? do I need to wait until business hours for it to work or something?

    is this a rare occurrence or is it that square has reliably bad service / non-functioning material and I should just mosey on over to another MMO who is better organized than this?

    thus far, I'm definitely not impressed. Square might have prevented the trouble of having to deal with a new customer today.

    Sounds like you've already made up your mind. I hear that World of Warcraft is pretty popular.

      If you already feel this way about SE, I agree with TGM

      if the registration code did not work, (witch is rare btw) then take back the trial to where you bought it and get another one.

        I downloaded it from the FF11 website, and got the trial code from the same website...
        should I try applying for another code with a different email address?
        I won't give up until I've actually tried the game, though. it looks really fun, but it's simply disheartening to go through all this trouble...

        (world of warcraft is indeed fun.... it's why I had to quit... they call it "warcrack" for a reason!)

            Good sir, If you had problems playing WoW in moderation, then I don't think FFXI is going to be any better. If you chose to quit wow because you were playing it too often/much, and neglecting other things (breathing/pooping/working/sexing/fooding) then your question shouldn't be: FFXI- Yay? or Nay?

            Your question should be MMORPG- Yay? or Nay?

            and please don't think i'm blasting you or nuthing brother, I'm not. It just seems like maybe you broke up with WoW, regretted it, and your trying to rebound with FFXI.

                Actually there are.

                Rehab center for video game addicts opens in Amsterdam - Engadget

                and there are more stateside but you'd have to google it. There's rehab programs for every kind of addiction, there's rehab programs for rehab programs.

                        Most FFXI players have different names for that other mmo. I hope you are ready for something "different". I personally have never played that other one, but from what I hear FFXI is a bit more of a challenge. There have been some improvements in the last year or two to make leveling a litle bit easier, and solo is a lot easier. But stick around for a while, and check it out. Leveling multiple jobs on the same character is great. Joining/creating 6 man parties can actually be a fun experience with the right state of mind. Start building relationships with others as soon as you can, but please don't be rude when asking for someone's advice in-game. Not everyone has spare time to invest in new players at all times. Good luck, and welcome to the game.
