An introduction to all servers

Hello everyone, first off welcome to Final Fantasy XI and FFXIOnline.com community website. One of the biggest steps in starting any great adventure in Vana'diel is picking a server to play on. The server you pick will provide you the opportunities to make great friends, teams to defeat the strongest enemies Square-Enix can dream up.

Each is the same layout, what makes the server's unique is the inhabitants. Some servers are very populated (i.e. Bahamut) where as some are very small communities. The goal of this thread is to give New players/Returning players/Server Transfers the proper information to chose a server that they will be happy on. The guide currently spans to page three. I will attempt to compress it after we get most of the info up. If you have any further questions make a post seeking the info or you can also pm me and I will collect the info for you.

Each server needs to be updated when possible, by the inhabitants. I will do my best to grab general information for people. Linkshells can be posted if: They accept new players, returning players, server transfers. The linkshell must be open at the time posted.

Any questions or comments about the thread can be posted at the end, or you can contact me via private message, or AIM/MSN. I will work my hardest to accommodate everyone.

Its original population consisted of players world shifted from Titan, Fenrir, Alexander, and Diabolos Servers. On January 14, 2003, the population of Typhon Server was merged with that of Kujata Server before being deactivated. Typhon's population was made from players world shifted from Ramuh, Leviathan, Caitsith, and Gilgamesh Servers.

Garuda was one of the first 2 servers to be activated to take the overcroding pressure off the first 19 and opened its doors in November 2002.
Garuda has a good balanced economy, it has the 4th cheapest AH prices and because of this RMT activity has recently been quite low. There is normally a good amount of players on the server and low levels in the Dunes seem to not find too much difficulty in getting a party. Whitegate does lag but not as much as other servers. There are some good high level sea and sky LS's about but I'm not high enough to ay which are the better ones. Currently there seems to be a lack of mid level WHM's as well as a shortage of DD's for Jungle parties, though this is improoving. As for anoying shouts, i havn't noticed many while travelling around.
Its a mixed server with a good percentage of US and JP memebrs as well as a few of us Europeans.

We are a multi level social linkshell which covers most of the activities. We have a mix of levels which inlcudes all jobs at 75, many new players and many like myself middle level players. We do occasional Linkshell Bremans as well as Assults, Promies and various missions for all expansions. Even I as a lvl 43 PLD help out and Pl a few newer players and help them learn their jobs while doing key and subjob quests. We have some good banter and usually there is always someone on. We cover US, UK, Iraq (US on detachment there) with a few people who work nights so theya re on during the day (JP primetime and Uk mornings)
