I just started to notice that Alla is censoring some comments (info on items and such) due to IGE. I dont mean anti-IGE stuff, I mean posts that dont even mention the company

Have you got an example of this where it's not just comments getting rated below the filter or people editing posts out themselves? There's been a trend over the past few months of spammers using item comments to advertise bots/hacks/RMT, and the admins have been deleting those when they're reported.

Here's a thought.

What made Alla so valuable? The user-created content. Alla didn't create anything other than the framework, really.

So what Alla sold wasn't really (morally speaking) theirs to sell.

But wait, it gets better!

Now this user-created content will be making money for IGE. Why? Because every visit to Alla will give IGE's site more hits and more hits equal more impressions for whatever ads they might be running now and in the future.

If any users who have migrated from Alla to here have not yet been banned, it might be a really good idea to:

a) copy & paste your walk-throughs and game guides from Alla to another source (possibly onto this community if appropriate)

b) delete the original content from Alla

c) not mention this on the Alla forums at all, as making a big deal out of it would just cause Alla to ban people, resulting in users not being able to delete their old content should they wish to...

Yeah, compared to here, the community on alla sucks. Yeah they have good guides and such, but the forums were utterly useless if the right people got ahold of your thread (which was commonplace). And the rules were so strict because of this: you could only link to pictures, you had to have a premium account to use an avatar or the forum search tools, and you needed premium to use emoticons too. And even with all this there were still spammers and rule breakers out the wazoo.

I don't see why I didn't switch to here sooner, I knew before that I didn't like it very much in the first place....
