If you edit something with in 5 min of post, it won't show "Edited" message at the bottom, but otherwise, it'll show you the date and time of last "edited" , Also, if you try to double post a new post on top of one another, it'll merge them into 1 post intead of traditional 2 (double) posting.

Can't really cancel your account, just let it stagnate, unless you mean premium. In that case, it's not terribly surprising. Quite a few (maybe even most) of the people who got premium did it not for the features it comes with but to help support the site and what it stood for. It no longer stands for what they want to support, so why back it financially anymore?

Not exactly a refugee as alla more or less provided me with some amusement while at work. Alla never was a site that has easy to access or even up to date information. I prefer mysterytour, somepage and ffxrecipe for solid information.

Its kinda interesting. This site was the prime forums and source of information in the old days (importer days and Beta). When FFXI launched in NA, or slightly before then, Allakhazam became the site with the highest amount of traffic. Now, Dreams in Vana'diel is top place for refugees to seek asylum. It seems like this site started to die down after spring-summer 2004 and became so quiet, you could hear crickets chirp through the virtual space. Maybe this influx will provide a revitalization for this website. Hopefully it will merge the volume of content from Alla and the crap (e.g. trolling, flame wars, other stupid stuff)-free content of Dreams. Lets hope we don't get the quietness of Dreams and the trolling and flames of Alla. They'd make good company for the gilsellers.

I think some people in this thread complained this site lacked information. Yeah, a lot of it is from 2002-3, but I recommend the FFXI Wiki from Team Avengers for that. They are gathering an amazing amount of information and have forums to discuss those matters and add content (I know because I contributed the historical backgrounds [mythology] to a number of monsters and a few weapons or items). I think refugees should split their attention. Post here for the usual forum talk and all that, but go to FFXI Wiki for information.

I've been browsing this site since early 2003, though almost never posted (I created a new account because I forgot the password to my old one). I was the same for alla until I started posting periodically every now and then in 2005. I hope the Alla refugees find it a nice place to continue, away from places that sellout.

THANK YOU for the editing feature. I can't tell you how many times I've gone back to edit spelling, only to have my post cluttered by two or three "Edited at <timestamp>" messages at the bottom of my posts.
