    Re: For Zam.com Refugees

Wow, look at that, a formal welcome from an admin. Classy.

I know a lot of the ex-Alla people are used to the daily grind over there, and if flaming isnt tolerated over here, its going to take a while for a couple people to adjust. I really hope no one overstays their welcome. Quite frankly, a nice, stable integration would be very welcome, as opposed to just turning this into another flame-ridden place.

I think the lack of a karma system is a good start--no one can get mad when you arent constantly being sub-defaulted.

This is going to be so difficult, trying my best to stay away from AllakIGE. This forum is a pleasant change of pace.

Happy to return to Dreams in Vana'Diel! I looked around a lot, but I think I am gonna make this my perma. home now.

You know, someone is going to have to contact Square Enix's community relations team and have allkhasellout removed from their premier community site page, considering their new ownership is very much not what SE needs to be affiliated with.

I'm not sure I follow. It takes some initiative to give up an account with a lot of posts on it? What does your post count have to do with anything? Maybe it's just because I've never been a big fan of public post counts on forums. I feel that it can lead to post spamming by folks who worry that if they don't have a large number under their name (much like the karma system at Alla) then they won't be as "important" to everyone else.

I'm not saying that's how Feba acts/thinks/whatever. I'm just not sure why leaving an account with nearly 10k posts is somehow more brave or bold or whatever than those of us who didn't have nearly as high a number.

edit> Geez, I come off like a real jerk here. :/ Not intentional, I promise.

Also, I'd like to echo the comments above re: Admin welcome. That's very much appreicated.^^

              Re: For Zam.com Refugees

On Allakhazam, some people actually believe post count > God. Now, Im not saying Feba is one of those maniacs... but you gotta figure, some people spend 3 hours a day "Post pharming" just to make Danalog's top 100 list or something like that.

And then of course, the people who DO post pharm, and make the list orgasm at seeing their names up on such a prestigious list.

Youre right though--post count doesnt (and never should) count for anything. But coming from a place like Alla, I can see how "respect" is a good word to use when describing someone who left a near-10k post account.

Props Feba. Way to stick to your guns.

              ***Edit***
On that note, I'm assuming post pharming is illegal here, too, no? I know you said no spam, but thats not going to stop your occasional poster from jumping between threads and just saying "I agree" in order to get his post count up. Because rest assured, SOMEONE here from Alla will most likely do it sooner or later. Just dont judge us all because of the stupid actions of one person >_<

We interpret spam case by case. Nobody's going to jump down your throat for posting a simple "I agree" or just a , but if someone shotguns a bunch of threads with one or two word replies, we'll notice and unpleasant things will happen.

I spent 2 years there, never "post-farmed", and I still made #47 on that list.
I was rather surprised, to say the least.

Used in the context of "coming from Alla" it makes complete sense. :p

Its not something you'll get banned for unless you just keep doing it over and over. A few worthless one-liners here and there will usually just get one of us to give you a hard time about it, nothing more. Occasionally get a new person in that leaves like 20 replies, none of which having anything to do with the topic or just be one or two words at most. Usually a mod will just give them a verbal warning and they stop.

I think I'm gonna burst a blood vessel.
Half the people on alla apparently can't grapple with the concept that a parent company will invest profits from one company into another held company, in this case, IGE. As a result, expect to see many more 'xias, 'baobaos, and /tells saying "Cao ni ma" in the future. You may as well buy gil if you sign up for a premium account.

Sorry if this is an immature post, I just desperately needed to vent ><

I feel like I'm posting too much as it is. I can't play again until tomorrow or Friday (as soon as my bank sends me my new card - the old one expired), and I think I'm having a bit of a withdrawal that is manifesting itself in being really chatty via the forums.

There is tons of stuff to catch up on here though, so maybe I'll busy myself doing that instead of cluttering up this thread.

EDIT: Korith - I've checked out that forum before. Very cool stuff going on in there.^^

Yet another person here from Alla. Not much of a poster. More of a lurker. Will probably continue to read Alla for entertainment and for quest.
