    Re: For Zam.com Refugees

While I have talked to a few of the admins, they say that they won't leave unless IGE starts explicitly using allakhazam [i.e, popups, banners, links]

I did tell Kao I was going to be making my own forum to replace my journal, and told him he's always welcome, so he'd probably pop in on that.

Another refugee. I've had an account registered here (though I forgot about it ^^. Though I actively posted on Alla (read: IGE's new official forums), I've been a lurker here for quite a while.

Glad to see people are welcoming us. I like the community aspect of forums like these, so I'm really looking foward to getting to know people.

Edit: I have to get used to the emoticons. >_>

Leader of the Exodus? Isn't that a bit much Feba? You're not Che Guevara, you're just a guy changing forums. XD

I mean, I'm all for not supporting alla anymore, but let's keep some perspective here.

wow... I wonder what would happen if IGE really did try to move in and take over. Could the forums over there litterally die out?

On another note, I think its poor timing that people such as Kojiami were recently banned, in light of all thats happening. Sadly, only the very best trolls over there would be a really good weapon to see used against the likes of IGE (if the forums really do go bad, that is). I wonder how they would stand on the subject.

Kind of a whole "maybe if we screw the place up enough, they wont want it anymore" notion.

Well he is the one who was most vocal in advertising this site as a replacement for IGE's...err Alla's forums. I just hope this doesn't inflate an ego >.>

It's just so people know who to blame for all you May 06rs

And besides, it sounds a helluva lot better than "The guy who posted a link here for a bunch of people angry at RMT to come here to escape another forum which sold out"

Feba has always been vocal, so yes, I'll give you that. And hey, I'm all for letting folks know. But I really think it's enough to say "Hey guys, here is an alternative" without turning around and saying "Look at all the new folks I brought!"

As I said, I'm all for bringing folks over here, but seriously - perspective.

edit> Fair enough, Feba.^^ I wasn't trying to lecture or anything.

edit2> And I'm an April 06'er thank you very much. But only because I lost the info on my old account I made back in 2004.

                  Re: For Zam.com Refugees

                  Greetings, all.
I may as well be labeled as one more in the stream of expatriates, though my account at this site existed before my account over there did.

Now if only I knew who to talk to to get my username problem worked out...

(before the NA release, I registered here for the first time, but never used it and had forgotten about it until many months later... when I came to register again, having forgotten about earlier! Lo and behold, my name was already taken (of course), but the email account used was long lost in the mists of forgotten non-rememb'rance, and an impassioned plea to the adminstration at the time yielded no response. Now, though that account remains utterly unused, not a single post ever made, I am currently forced to present myself under my more formal name, which i'd prefer to eschew.)

Its a lot quieter and much more sane around here. Alla refugees, all I ask is that you don't mess it up.

Hello, Valrath here from alla. Not going to say anything about it until the transition goes through. The database and player input there made it very useful. Sure Somepage has a bigger database, but there's no player input that says ***** items sucks or mision x was hard/easy. Anyway, too early to say for sure, I don't like it atm. If IGE didn't create the parent company, and alla and IGE were truly seperate, no problem, but IGE did.

Enough rambling about that, I'm looking foward to a great and friendly forum.

                                You never know, Feba.

Impaction, you are entirely correct; I do protest too much. Even so, I trust you might excuse it, just this once. I am sure that you can sympathize with the feeling one is faced with when accustomed to being known by one name for over a decade, to be forced to get used to something different.

It is neither here nor there. My sig identifies me to those who know me, and that's enough.

Again, thank you for the welcome, but I will likely be fairly quiet and stick mostly to my job forum.
