I can't stress enough to say gift cards are viable but you have to keep in mind the credit card company isn't going to do this for free. Gotta read that fine print to see if they have a fee per charge, or per month or inactivity rate, etc etc.

Ok, let me explain this with a run down of really 'HOW' much this will cost you over time.

Assuming you use Wells Fargo, but most GIFT Visa cards apply the same (basic) charges.

First time Card Purchase, $2.50
Shipping Fee, $2.50

Then you realized how long [much money] do you want to have the card for the game, assuming you use 2 mules, that's about 15 bucks a month. So you need about $180.00 to keep you going for 1 year, then repurchase a card to keep this going (see fee above). The card Expires in 2 years, (different with different states and banks/retailer) in California, there's a law preventing gift cards to have expiration dates (see link on first post I did, please read it)

The max amount of money you can put in a gift card is $500.00 ( 500/15/12 (Amt/Cost per month/Years) = 2.78 Years

I said before [first post] that the banks are doing this for free....

Then here's the real kicker, you need to be a Wells Fargo Customer to purchase one (I'm guessing [Customer = have] a bank account with them). There you go all the fees in a nut shell.

Here I'll throw in this fee to taunt you.
How long can I use the Wells Fargo Visa Gift Card?
Your Wells Fargo Visa Gift Card expires up to two years from the date of issue - we emboss the expiration date right on the front of your card. If you do not use the full amount before the card expires, you can call 1-877-855-8719 to have us reissue a new card, and we will deduct a reissue fee of $7.50 from your remaining balance. If you do not want to renew your card after it expires, you can request a check for your remaining balance, and we will deduct a $15.00 manual check-issuing fee from your balance.

With 5 Dollars Left over, which can't transfer back to the orginal owner, considered this Lost money.

Effective Rate per month = $16.60

I guess it isn't so bad when all the calculation are all done. But I don't like losing money to "Bank Fees" "Other Interest" "Misc. Charges"

Disclaimer: I Do not hold any responsible in my own calcuation; I just half-assed it on the excel sheet... it's mistake prone.

End Result: Not worth it, use a bank debit card or a credit card. Use a credit card with cash back or merchant points. That way, when you spend money, you make money (in a way). ^_^;

weird.....visa-logo gift cards should work fine. As long as there's a valid number on the front and back of the card, I don't see why it shouldn't work out.
