imo id start out as a whm <_< because whm is the core SJ for all mage jobs and PT want u to cure as rdm so its best to go whm :D

Thank you very much for your reply.

I never considered WHM to be honest. I don't mind healing and being support however I have been in situations where I find that I make a character totally team based, and then I never get a team T_T

I am not a huge soloer plus I do not know anyone in the game at the moment. So anything that is prefereably easy to solo or at least something thats always needed in a party would be good ^_^

eh oy i'm a seasoned samurai but i know pretty much alot about the mage jobs more than my 75 friends lol so if u have any questions just ask or search the forums >.> an be sure u have the time to very detailed these people that they are. an yes i've been on all servers since the ps2 release my new server has alot of nice/mean people lol and gilsellers lolol what server doesnt hahaha^ ^ but anyways welcome to our world

With regards to servers...

I think I'd actually like to join Ragnarok server.. (Ragnarok, Midgard and caitsith appeal ^^)

But... being a total new guy to this I wonder how I can actualy get to Ragnarok Oo

Now atm I've been creating and deleting chars till Ragnorak server came up but unfortunately i've not been able to get to the right server ^_^ So if anyone can direct me on what I should do to try and get to Ragnarok i'd appreciate it a lot :D

logging onto a server with a new id on a different handle will randomly generate a server everytime u delete the char [not id] so.... keep deleteing an creating an logging >.> ragnarock was cool till a few a**hats came in an ruined my fun an my friends too >,,> but gl either way an if u dont have fun just try ur other choices theres over 35 servers so the possiblities are unlimited [they're limited but that sounded good lol^ ^]

Are you serious about RDM? Then you have to consider WHM and BLM. Because you will end up doing both. These will be your main subs until you can acquire some of the advance jobs in the game. Even when you do, you might end up sticking with WHM and BLM as your primary subs.

It is pretty hard to lvl RDM early on, especially before you are able to cast Refresh. And most pts will pick you up only if there aren't any WHM and BLM. Compared to these mages your spells sucks in the beginning. So as much as possible, try to keep them capped.

And if you are still considering to look past all of that, RDM is a very hectic job. You will feel like you have to do a balancing act at times (well actually, all the time).
But once you get the hang of the job, you will like being a RDM. I know I do.

And remember this important Rule: RDMs are the "Jack of all spells and the master of none." You are never gonna be better in curing then a WHM. You will never be better in nuking then a BLM. But there is something RDMs can do that both mages can not. Once you play RDM, you will see what I mean.

Wow thanks for the advice.

See the thing is. I'm used to playing a support based char on a lot of mmorpg's so being a WHM appeals cause Its not something new to me (i.e focusing on healing and suporting a team then being the one dealing the dmge.)

On the other hand I also love the idea of doing lotsa lovely dmge with a BLM ^_^ Something about its power just appeals to me also.

Hence why I thought RDM would be a happy medium for me, so I get a bit of both worlds so to speak ^_^

I plan to start off as a RDM, then sub WHM at the beginning so ill have some sort of healing ability incase a team needs it. Then later on in lvls I think i would swop to sub BLM so I can do some nice dmge during the high lvls of the game.

Being new I expect to make huge errors and gimp myself by lvl 2 (yay -.-) but I'll learn through trial and error ^_^

If RDM gets too tough I don't mind restarting I'm very patient like that ^^. Just seems to me that with RDM I get a bit of everything so if i find that I prefer to /whm then do any nuking then I know my next char shall be WHM/** :D

Thats very nice of you ^_^ But I would feel awful just taking money off people just cause I'm new >.> Unless that's something which is done here

I don't want to be one of those new guys that "free stoofz plz and powerlvl 1!!!! ><" cause I actually like playing rather than getting a fast track way :D But whats gonna be a big factor for me is whether I can get to meet some nice ppl and team with them etc and just enjoy it :D
