Yo, I heard we like thanks so we should ask Taskmage to put a "Like" button in the "Thanks" button so we can like what we thank and thank what we like.

That would've been funnier, BBQ, if it ended at "I heard we like thanks."

As long as the Thanks button stays, I'm happy. What bugs me lately, though, is that with the system that's currently in place, Thanking reloads the page (Liking doesn't), where it wasn't always that way. This has annoyed me for what should be obvious reasons.

The page reloading thing is due to Thanks being an AJAX feature, and AJAX is disabled due to that double-posting bug. There's a likely fix, but it takes putting your hands in the guts of the script in the way only PiNG can to try it.

It looks like the Thanks have it, but I'll leave the poll up for the weekend just so no one feels left out.

But, what if it led to too much confusion? I know of several posts I wouldn't mind hitting. In the face. Until they stopped breathing.

How about we offer two Hit That icons? One of a thumbs-up, with a green theme, and the other of a shovel, with a red theme? At the bottom of the post, it would sum up who would hit it, and who would hit it with a shovel. And maybe a third icon for burying it under your house.

one, fuck facebook. Just because we use it doesn't mean we have to enjoy the retarded memes coming out of the place.

three, I have never once liked BBQ. I have on many occasions wanted to thank him. For that matter, the only person on this forum I've ever liked is j9, and that's only because it's my sock.

I hate Faceblock, twatter and generally all of the other web 2.0 bollocks. Also I agree with Feba (shocking I know) but I would sooner thank someone for a post than profess to liking anything they did.

What I would prefer is a minimum length applied to responses, not including quotes, to get past the inane "This" posts.

Are you kidding? That's one of the things I love about DiV.

Sometimes all the response a post warrants is a simple "no". People are going to make those sorts of posts regardless. All a minimum post length does is get people to add arbitrary characters after their post until it meets the minimum character criteria.

I use both,

If I like something I like it,
If I think I need to reinforce my like, I enjoyed the post or it was useful to me in a way like seems too casual I will use thanks also.

If anything get rid of that weird experience thing. I still dont understand it at all. I won something last week and I have no idea what it is and what it was for.
I'd rather us get rid of that garbage rather than complain about not wanting to use a button or not happy with button placement.
It's nice we have input and admins listen to us, I wish SE did that to us, I just don't see this change making my life or experience using the forum any better.
