Someone mentioned this in another thread, but is there a way to dispute your rep?

Surely, it's a meaningless endevour, but I've gotten two negative reps lately where the comments were along the lines of "lol that was great! Nice post!" along with a negative rep. I think people just choose the wrong option sometimes.

Only way to dispute or alter it would be to appeal to PiNG or AKosygin. We (moderators) can view reputation given to any user, but we can't change anything except the text attached to each rating.

It means that some retard that has no reputation at all has rated you down. In other words, it won't effect you

I feel conversely cheated and vindicated when I see a grey dot, depending on the comment. XD

Really though, the rep doesn't mean anything. So I don't get too worried about it. Unless someone says something really shocking in the comment, and then I'm left to wonder.

I think it means it didn't have an effect on your rep. Maybe they had 0 rep points and rated you down.

I'll give you a rate-up to compensate because they were dead wrong about Shock and Rasp, but I don't know if it will do anything because I have 0, too.

I like grey dots when they have a nice comment next to them. When they don't have any comment at all, I just chuckle and move on.

Rep power means jack crap. because if you tick off the wrong person they just keep rating your rep power down til its 0. hell i had it at 15. someone must have got mad at me now im back down to 0.

Doesnt mean i dont know what im talking about. I know way to much about Bst. =P

You have to rate other people updown alot first but you can. Rated little ninja up neway and he seems to be back up to 14 :/

Well, yes. But you can only give out so much rep in one day, and you'd have to really really work on that to be able to considerably change anyone's rep one way or the other.

It would be nice if we could see who rated you up or down. It's really annoying when people rate you down for stupid reasons. If someone's opinion differs from yours, it doesn't necessarily mean they deserve a rate down.

In the thread about SE's next MMORPG I got rated down because I said gil sellers should be easier to get banned and I admit it kinda ticked me off even though it's purely e-peen numbers. Oh well.
