    This is more about FFXIO than FFXI but...

    How do you get the discounts whne you purchace things? I see that they are quite common, but appear random... been bugging me for a while.

    If you mean purchasing from NPCs, the answer is fame from quests. The more quests you do in cities, the lower prices from NPCs will be for you in those cities. This is why I try to get hero fame on my mules (aside from wanting Mog House upgrades).
