  • Cannot open links that use "modules.php"

Anyone's assistance in helping me resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I recently started registered with this site and began exploring but am stymied by something. Any link I try to click on that uses the "modules.php" file results in a window popping up asking if I want to download the file. Links that use display.php, newthread.php, etc. work just fine but I can't open Media Downloads (.../modules.php?name=Downloads), Site Map (.../modules.php?name=Content), etc.

Anyone else experiencing this problem? This is happening on both my home and work computer and I don't have anything out of the ordinary configured for my browser (IE). Please help!

    Thank you.

I get this problem also using IE and Mozilla browsers. I'm not sure what's the problem. I've cleared my cache, cookies, and all of my temp internet files to see if that would help. No luck.

I've even sent an email to the webmaster a couple of days ago but haven't heard anything yet. At least now I know that I'm not the only one experiencing this. I really hope this gets resolved soon as I want to explore the wealth of info this site seems to have.

We're looking into it. This is a serious issue, and I myself have it as well...

Oops, I stated a whole new thread about this. Sorry, didn't see this one. But yes, it would seem most people are having this problem.

This started happening to me two days ago, I thought it was just me.

Specifically, this is only happening on my laptop running Windows XP Home with IE6. On my work machine and on my Mac laptop it is fine.

It's any of the links on the main page - module.php or the newsbox article.php - the 'Active in the Forums' box works correctly on the affected machine.

Has anyone tried another browser, such as Netscape (uggh) to temporarily cure the problem?
Really need to access some of those links.

I've tried Mozilla on WinXp & Fedora as well as IE on WinXP and I get the same error messages. I believe it must be something server side. I hope this gets fixed soon as I wanted to get some info off the site that I can't find at any other sites out there. This is a great resource and I would be sad to lose it.
