Possible new Idea for a Community site.

I'm not too sure about this idea just yet but I have been looking alot into it. there seems to be alot of people who Like the trades, as I do. If you are one of those people then you know that I like to keep up on what Is currently going for what price at the AH. I was thinking the other day and came up with the idea of possibly going ahead and creating a website that held information of updated AH prices. If I could do this then I would probably make a hit of a site. I was not planning on setting this IDea out to the world but I figured someone else could probably do a better job of using this IDea then I could. Maybe you, at FFXIonline.com can find some way to get play onlines permission for the scripts to the servers AH's and have them update to a streaming server? I was talking with someone about this and he said it would not be easy but it is not going to be impossible either. If we can get POL to give some of us permission to use its scripts we could create an updated by the hour AH price list for each individual server. If we do this I bet like myself Alot of people would love this idea because then they could go ahead and allow the time to just insetad of logging onto the game to check jsut getting on your browser and going to a site and letting somethingload with the most uptodate information.

Granted this is just and IDea and im sure that not many people would wanna pull the work off because I know it will not be something of little ease. If you as a user of FFXI like this IDea just post backwith any information you would like to add. I think we could go somewhere with this Idea. I dunno if it has been propossed before now but if it was than I guess I will bring it up again

I like the idea, but wouldn't that type of Info also be used by people when picking out a server they want to go to? I wonder if that kind of info could lead to population boosts on certain servers, unless you restrict access to onoly those that have already created their character.

But anywho, I would also like to see as many accurate recipes of the tradeskills as possible on that site too. This will help out tremendously. And put it in English please. I cannot understand Japanese nor really care to learn it either.

I thought about this. In fact a couple of months ago I started putting together a table on my PDA in my freetime that showed all the AH prices for Jeuno and San D'Oria. It stemmed from the fact that I saw some distinctly different prices on my first trip. It was a self indulgent thing on making my own cash but I considered putting it on the shitty as 5mb of space I get with TWC...Then it occurred to me...If I created this site and posted a link it's possible that I would get so much traffic TWC would shut me down.

I'd be willing to compile all of the information on my server but I would need volunteers for other servers. I'm on Quetz.

Actually I could put it all in a table or DB or something and even have a quick reference for price differences between zone's represented in green with an up arrow or red with a down arrow, like a stock market. It could be called the Auction House Association Price Index. AHAPI And since the their are a ton of AH Campers you could call it the AHAPI Camper website...Get it? A Happy Camper. LOL ^.^

Very good Idea I like it, currently I'm in school but when I get home I'll tell you what I have in mind. I like the ideas. Anyone else with ideas feel free to post.

Ok, sorry for the delay got a little tied up last night with other things in my life. But I made it first priority to get this done today. I wanted to let you know that That Idea is somehting I was looking into. And to the person who said if we were to have Access to the AH information we would be able to get onto the world, that Isnt REALLY true, all they have to do is give us read access to a certain area of the game and allow us to take that information and process it into a table of some sort for a website.

If this Idea wont go through (I'm going to be Emailing SEnix today about the idea to see what we can come up with..) I could probably get something going that has just a main website built off of PHP and it runs using the simple scripts were the people submit the AH updates Daily that they have seen. I know we would have a big problem with hoensty and we would nee someone from every AH on every World To figure it out for us. And I personally dont think we will have that much of a staff to actually show something like that in the long run.

I'm gonna see what Senix says to me when I write them an Email.
