Server/Linkshell Reccomendation?

I'm essentially new to the game despite having experienced it for a bit years ago and I"m curious if there are any folks out there that could recommend a good server and linkshell that's recruiting for folks like myself.

I have a post in the Returning Players subforum but i'm starting to think no one looks in there based on the activity.

Most people do not search individual forums, they click the New Posts button. So it doesn't matter what section of the forum you post under, if its a new post it shows up in the list of posts. If people are interested, they click it and if they feel helpful they answer. So putting your posts in the part of the forum that you think gets the most activity, does nothing. It only ends up getting moved to where it belongs.

All worlds/servers are the same just that some are more populated than others. Put all the names on pieces of paper, put them in a hat and pick one out. Seriously. It's how I picked mine.

As for linkshells, you get into the game and you play it. FFXI or any MMO is a social game and therefore you meet people and you make friends. Be nice to people, learn to use your blacklist for jerks ( type /blist add "persons name here with no quotes"), and eventually you can ask someone that is a friend if you can join their ls. In the beginning levels, there aren't many linkshells that recruit people, thats more for mid to endgame.

I picked Hades to roll on for now. I was mainly looking for a LS from the get-go mainly since I prefer the healer types. Which tend not to do to well solo and with the low level/newbie areas being desolate of people it can be rough and very slow.

Well I have been on 2 servers now and i'm currently in the Remora server. It's a great server as there are more people in the EU as well as more or less the same amount US and Japanese players still. I have released a new linkshell on the Remora server called theblackdragonclan and only after seeking for members the last 2 days, we already have a good amount of players from different places in the world. 1 so far in Japan (speaks fluent English) 3-4 US players and 2-3 UK players so far and we are always looking for more people to join as we are a social LS

Remora is a pretty decent place. It used to be the land of RMT but they decided to let us live in peace. I guess it does have it's Jerks but they are quite few and far between. I've tried other servers but this one really feels like home.
