the first question i have, is there a way to transfer a character or would i have to start over?

my other question is, whats a good sever to switch to? preferably which server has a good amount of people from this forum on it?

There is a way to switch, you have to pay a set fee but you can move however many of your characters you like for that fee that one time I believe and then it's 3 months before you can switch again.

As for popular servers.. last I heard Asura was one of the top ones but I'm sure somewhere if you googled or something you will find a server populas thingy.

I think it's an awesome server, but that's because I'm on seraph =p.

i guess the better question is when you log in and search all areas, how many people show up?

on pandy its usually 1600 or so. highest ive seen is 3300 and that was at 2 in the mornin my time.

I like Bismarck personally, as I transferred there from Alexander. A fair few GMT players like myself which helps, friendly community and such ^^
