So, World Transfers are here, for good or for bad. For me, it's an opportunity to find a home on another server with a larger circle of friends. Bahamut is fine as servers go. I'm not that interested in which server is better than the others, or which one has less jerks, or less competition for this or for that. The fact is, I only know a few on Bahamut, and we aren't members of the same LS, nor do we play at the same times. It's pretty lonely, and since I haven't had any luck finding an LS here, I thought that maybe I'd have better luck somewhere else.

It's worth a shot, anyway. Anywho...

    About Me:

I'm a nice guy. At least, I think so. I try to be as good as possible at any job I play. I'm helpful, or at least I try to be. If there is something that I can help with, no matter how large or small, I'm there. If it's something that requires a ton of organization, and you want me to do all of that, well...I might suggest you look elsewhere. But otherwise? Totally there.

I'm chatty. Maybe too chatty for some people. I recognize that. That said, I don't chat just for the sake of chatting. I chat because I have something to say. I can be curt, and a bit abrupt at times. That's just my way. I don't mean anything by it, and I don't hate you. I mean, maybe I do, but you'll never know it. I don't care for drama. I don't like to start it, and I don't like to be a part of it. However, I'm not afraid to call someone on it if they are lying about something. I'm somewhat unforgiving. If you hurt me, or one of my friends, it's unlikely that I'll ever trust you again. If you steal something, or lie, same deal. I have seen so many people get away with the most ridiculous behavior in these games because they play a job that people need, or because they have been in the guild/shell a long time. Fuck that noise. There is always another Job X out there, and likely one that isn't going to put the group through a bunch of bullshit.

Not too many people here have ever met me in-game. I can't really say what they think of me (but I think it's mostly positive). Maybe if Kirst or someone wanted to say something about my skill/playing style/whatever, that'd be cool, but if not, that's cool too. I know I'm not exactly objective about myself.

    Job Levels (over 30)
    Red Mage 75
    White Mage 42
    Black Mage 40

I'm currently working on leveling NIN (to 40) and DRK (to 37). After that, I'll level BRD to at least 37 in order to finish up my RDM subs. Then I plan to level something else to 75. I don't know what, but I'll have it figured out by the time it's time to choose.

    Mission Status
    San d'Oria - 6-2 Ranperre's Final Rest
    Zilart - 14 Ark Angels
    Promathia - 2-5 Ancient Vows
Aht Urghan - 12 Royal Puppeteer

I'd like to finish up my nation missions (Rank 10), and then switch to Windurst or Bastok and do it all over again. I really want to finish the expansion mission lines as well. I hate that I'm nearly done with Zilart, and that I've barely made any progress on CoP or ToAU. I've just never been able to manage more than a few pickup groups here and there in this area, despite my best efforts.

I'd like to do Assault. Regularly if possible. Various endgame activities are ok for the future, but they aren't a priority right now.

    What I'm Looking For:
I've been in a lot of Guilds and Linkshells in my time online. Most of them were fine, but a handful of them were really great. The ones I've loved had a few things in common.

    - There was a genuine sense of camaraderie. I knew that at any time of day there would be someone to chat with, or someone who would want to team up for exp, farming or questing. People were genuinely happy to see others log on, and looked forward to seeing each other the next day.

    - (As an extension of the above) New members were treated much the same as old members. People who knew each other IRL were treated much the same as those who were only known online. There weren't any overt cliques or any obvious favoritism. For example: In WoW, our guild had a Husband/Wife team. But rather than always teaming up with each other (not that they didn't from time to time), they were often found doing entirely different things on opposite sides of the world, with various guild mates (the wife and I were farming partners, while the husband and I were early morning quest grinding partners).

    - There was a "no man left behind" mentality. If someone got stuck on a mission, or if they were having trouble getting invites on a particular job, people banded together to help that person out, and get them over the hump, whatever it happened to be.

Ideally, I'd like to find a group that shared some of these common characteristics again.

I realize this is a ridiculously wordy post, and that most of you won't read it, or if you do, you'll think I'm asking for too much, or that I'm not the kind of person you'd want on your server. And that's cool. I probably am asking for too much, and you probably wouldn't like me. But for one or two folks out there, maybe it's just enough, and maybe you just might.

    Comments/suggestions/insults, are all welcome.

I can't offer you a pearl, but I do wish you luck. Hope you find what you're looking for. ^_^

Thanks. At least you didn't tell me to DIAF.

What you're describing sounds a lot like FraggleRock.. joining that group after a couple years in a LS with a drama queen was quite welcome.

Here's the new LS website. It's a little campy, but the LS Founder (who is semi-retired) made it for us because he loves us all that much.

I think you would like server and linkshell that im in right now. Server: Diabolos and LS: Summoned Heroes. I have been in this LS for a little bit over a year and I like the people there.

The following are the rules for our linkshell:

                  1) Have fun!

                  2) Have more fun!

                  3) If you forget #2, refer back to #1.

                  4) Linkshell dedication - your actions reflect on all of us, not just one. You will be held responsible for anything you do whether you have our linkpearl on or not. We monitor forum message boards on several sites to keep track of any problems on the horizon. In other words... be fair with other players, and you will always be fairly defended and welcome in our virtual home.

                  5) You must carry a morale that upholds integrity. That means vulgar language is discouraged. That also means no grievous taunting of other linkshell members or other players at any time. Of course it's ok to joke or tease a little, but if a player takes offense, stop, apologize, and move on from the subject.

                  6) Nobody likes a constant beggar. That doesn't mean we won't help you learn how to make gil, answer questions about various aspects of the game, or assist in camping Notorious Monsters or fighting in BCNMs. Nonetheless, it does mean that we will not tolerate persistent begging for gil or items. Some of our players like to give welcome gifts after a certain amount of time has passed, but it is not to be expected from everyone or anyone. It is your responsibility and your responsibility alone to procure gil to fund your in-game efforts. If you need help learning how to make gil, just ask. We will be more than happy to share our methods.

                  7) We do not support Real Money Trade under any circunstances. If we confirm that you are a purchaser of gil, you will be dismissed from the linkshell without warning. Do not cross this line.

                  8) Have tons of fun.

If you decide to transfer server. You are most welcome to our LS . Best of luck!

Yes, the first time I left FFXI (back in '04), I played WoW for about seven months.

Itazura - It means die in a fire. It just something I say from time to time. Got me in trouble once.

edit: Certainly worth considering, Bonus. Thanks.

noobs who don't know what DIAF means should go GTFO, or at least STFU.

Then you really shouldn't be inviting someone to your LS, especially when said person might have to spend 25$ on it just to find out he isn't welcome.

It's cool, Feba. I appreciated him saying something.

I won't be moving right away anyway, so I'll have time to figure out if I'm welcome or not. :p

edit: I probably shouldn't mention the other MMOs I've played then, I guess. :/
