FFXI is otw, but i need to pick a server....

ok i ordered FFXI from amazon.com, since my local EB store cant order them anymore, so now i got a few days to decide which server im ganna start with.
so i need help from people who have first hand experience on there server to tell me which would be best for me.

also are the server still random or you can get a list to pick wich server you wish to get to? (like EQ)


i need a server that has

-Great Economie

-lots of English / north american base community

-a good range of player base from 1-75, not just high end server

-a good population 24/7 (not a dead server when it reach 1am)


seems like alot but if im ganna play this game for more than a few weeks this time, i wanna make sure i do pick the right server that will cather to my needs.

Or, 3/4 of it, at the very least.

pretty even across all servers, but Mid, Asura or Fairy seem to be the more popular ones.

-a good range of player base from 1-75, not just high end server

all about the same

-a good population 24/7 (not a dead server when it reach 1am)

Mid, Asura and Fairly also seems to be the most drama-infested servers (especially Fairy).

A server that has a nice NA/EU population and is relatively "clean" is probably Lakshmi. This is just my personal speculation.

The other stuff is basically the same throughout.

Valefor is a pretty alright server.

IIRC, the ground kings aren't under JP Lockdown last time I checked.

Valefor is also the most fun server, because I'm in it.

I can get you a WP maybe tomorrow, not sure.
