  • yet another server economy thread...

With the beta wound up it came time to choose a server (was a no brainer, I went with the server several of my friends went to) my question is about the approx. AH prives. I love the game thus far but my only challenge as yet has been making enough $$$ to keep myself fully equiped. At lv 12 it cost around 5000k to fully upgrade all equipment...at lv 19 that sky-rocketed to around 50000k...wow! I tried camping NM's but the ones in the lv 1-20 zones were almost always camped heavely (my very sad number of claims never yielded any drops...) So i turned to farming crystals...modist living I know, but it was a reliable source of cash. I'm well aware that the economys on hydra compared to all others is vastly different. So now if finally reach my question (yay) What is the approx AH selling price for a stack of crystals or other easyly farmed goods (excluding synthing work)?

Any replys would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

ps - a stack of crystals almost always sold for 300gill

Fairy, they vary a lot. Depends on type of crystal too. Wind go anywhere from 5-10k a stack. Fire usually a little bit more. Earth are usually very cheap around 2-4k.
I'm guessing you meant 5k and 50k? 5000k means 5000 x 1000 or 5 million. Anyway, my advice for your level would be to go to Bastok and farm bees on Zegham hill (I think thats the right one. Its the same one where stinging sophie pops at. Just run back on fourth on the 2nd tier from the top killing every bee in sight. Beechips are selling for over 20k on Fairy now. With TH1 you should get about 3 stacks an hour.

Ah, you're on Lakshmi. Welcome. ^^

Fire and Wind Crystals are ~7k a stack.
      Earth and Water ~2k.

Wild Onions are 20-30k a stack and farmed from Goblin Thugs only, which are low level and easy to hunt. They drop fire crystals too.

Beehive Chips are ~25k a stack, dropped from bees of all levels, which also drop wind crystals.

Grain Seeds were 40k a stack last time I checked, but they may have dropped in price since then. You can get those from Saplings around Bastok and Windurst. Not a terribly common drop, but you can steal them near Bastok.

If you're around Windurst you can hunt the low level crawlers around there for silk thread. Not a very common drop, but they go for a lot in stacks.

All these prices are off the top of my head, so they may not be perfectly accurate. That's all I can think of for low level farming right now.

Oh, but don't discount fishing. Moat Carp sell for 15k a stack and you can catch them fairly quickly even with low fishing skill.

Referring to Taskmages comment about the silk threads on this one. My friend told me that a stack of silk threads can sell up to 75k on the ah on Shiva. This is my first post so, im still kinda new. See ya.
Thank you very much to Selphiie for this sig!

Just checked the Windy AH. Silk threads are 50k a stack.

Thanks for the correction Caspian, I did mean 5k and 50k. lol. Wow what a difference in prices. And moat carp, wow, i couldn't pay ppl to take em offa me on the beta. Crystals from 300gill on beta to 2-7k a stack, big difference. I'd have to imagine the betas low prices were due to a lack of demand on items seeing as there were not alot of high lvl crafters (and gillsellers and the such). Thank you for the info. While I'm aware that the cost of my equipment will be much higher as well, it's a good feeling knowing that I won't be running around with less than a thousand gill all the time now.

Well some items only have value in the long term. Moat carp, for instance, only cease to be worthless if you turn in ten thousand of them to a guy in San d'Oria for a great fishing rod, which itself is a long-term investment no beta player would be able to take advantage of.

Remember that you can almost always get your equipment cheaper from an NPC, especially at low levels. ffxi.somepage.com is a great resource for checking things like that.

if you farm them when moon is at 95%-100% you get great drops......it is a tried and tested idea if it dont work dont go biting my head off but it seems to work for me an my LS.

also you can farm lizzy skins hey have an ok drop rate and on my server they sell for a good 40k-50k a stack
