    Server?

    Hi, I'm going to be coming back to FFXI in the next few days and i'm wondering if there is a server that has nice concentration of english players. I'm looking for players that will be online around the same time as I, i'm on CST. (I hope that didn't sound bad, I like the japanese players but i'm looking for a server that will have more players on at my play-time than when I go to bed)

    I left FFXI a long while ago cause was tired of waiting 3 hours for a group, I know this prolly hasn't changed...but I miss some aspects of FFXI, specially after WoW. I'm also wondering, has FFXI recieved any visual upgrades as of late? I did the benchmark test, on HIGH the game didn't look to bad, but on LOW...good grief....it was like a ps1 game.

    Anyways, i'm looking forward to coming back. I just hope I can relearn the game and find a good LS/people to play with.

    there has not been any visual upgrades. but it depends on your setting like you said. At max setting the game does look amazing. You can even push the resolution higher by adjusting regedit.

      haha, yes. yes it does. that's encouraging ^.^

      well. I found the "return home to vana'diel" program. So i'll be reclaiming an old char....so I guess the server doesn't matter since they dont' allow server transfers....or do they?

      Now if I can just get thru the reclaiming process, and find the install discs i'll be set. Is there a place I can download the playonline viewer? I found a torrent with the full game, but that will take quite a while.


      Edit: Jei...at one time did you have a journal thread? I think I remember reading one a long time ago and I loved it. This was back when FFXI was just launching in the US and I was getting fired up about this game. He was a rdm, if it's not you, sorry ^^

        Yeah, it was Jei. He's been playing this game since 1842.
