  • Juneo vs. Windurst

Just wondering. For a low level mage does it make sense to make a run for Juneo? I mean does Juneo hold More oppertunity with gill and exp fro levels 1-20?

I know it seems weird, but I know a lot of people who have amde a level 1 run.

    Thanks alot.

no don't go. there's absolutely nothing around jeuno you can kill below 18. not to mention you'll be surrounded by mobs that can 1 shot you no matter which way to leave the city.

18 is the soonest you can start PTing around jeuno. don't go before that.

level 1 runs are for mules to help sell stuff on AH or bazaar or carry items or etc.

      Re: Juneo vs. Windurst

People do congregate there, and as such there are options available, including rare low-level equipment most people buy for their 4th or 5th job or for BCNM20 and the like. Of course, this equipment is way out of your average newbie price range. The areas that surround Jeuno are quite dangerous, with Qufim being the closest to a newbie-friendly hunting ground. A mage might be able to get a party here as early as 18, but melees will have a harder time of it. Though I did get THF from 19 to 20 in Qufim.

If you want to do quests there, though, your average fame among the three nations has to be high enough. In other words, every three levels of fame spread among these nations translates to one level of Jeuno fame. I understand that you need Jeuno fame 2 to do anything there. You start at fame 1, but you still need to acquire 3 levels of fame. That means, if you started in Bastok and never went anywhere else before Jeuno, you'd need to have fame 4 in Bastok to reach Jeuno fame 2. To have Jeuno fame 3, you'd need fame 7 in Bastok. So it helps to journey more anyway.

Except in specific circumstances, I'd say don't bother with Jeuno until you've hit 18, done a subjob quest, raised a subjob to 9-10, and particularly if your main is melee, hit 19. Waiting till 20 is perfectly reasonable, but some people do want to hurry out of the dunes, so the option's there. Note: If you go to Qufim before 20, be sure you have everything you need ready and on hand in inventory or mog safe. I'd recommend collecting Gausebit Greens for the chocobo quest before you go, or buy them from the AH once there. Getting through Meriphataud/Sauromugue, Pashhow/Rolanberry, or Jugner/Batallia can be very trying at that level, and you will most likely find you don't want to repeat the process.

One reason you may see level 1s make the trip is to act as Jeuno mules. You don't need Jeuno fame to receive/send money or use the Auction House, and some people who don't live out of Jeuno may appreciate being able to log into a character who's always located there. Another reason for it, particularly if said character has a subjob, may be to protect experience: At these levels, anything aggressive will aggro you and you will not survive. As such, there is little benefit once you get past Konschtat, La Theine, or Tahrongi to having a high-teens job. If your main is THF, I could see wanting Perfect Dodge in case you need to escape aggro close to a zone, but otherwise, going as a level 1 job makes a fair bit of sense.

Is it worth the run to have a mule there?

when you need a mule, you will know it :D no need to make one yet until you feel you need it.

it feels pretty much require when you get multiple jobs higher level and even more so when you craft.

Just kinda curious (and idiotic), but can't a mule make a killing elsewhere? As long as you have an item that's constantly used around the area, y'know?

            Fishy

            There once was fish,

            Whom made a perfect dish

            To a giant fish.

            The giant fish was caught,

            By a Mithra which sought

            To fill her hunger.

            The Mithra was slayed,

By a monster whom would raid

            The land.

            What have we learned?

I wouldn't make a Jeuno mule unless you specifically need a Jeuno mule. In all likelihood your Jeuno mule, if you have one, will be your fourth mule. maybe your third, if you try to spend most of your time in your home nation. (If you're gonna try this, definitely look into Outpost Teleportation...) Many adventurers live out of Jeuno anyway, and only would bother with a Jeuno mule once Bastok, Sandy, and Windy are all covered and they're moving around too much to check things in Jeuno.

                Re: Juneo vs. Windurst

the biggest reason for jeuno mule imo is for putting stuff up in the auction house. Items usually sell fastest here especially everyday consumable goods like silent oil and food. For example I make mainly sole sushi, and I can sell like 30-40 stacks a day in jeuno versus selling only 3 or 4 a day in windurst at an even cheaper price.

Not really. I farm in Sarutabaruta and I you'd probably make the same if you sold it and windy, but you'd probably be able to sell it faster at Jeuno or any other city.

                      Re: Juneo vs. Windurst

I have 3 mules. Two in Windy, and one in Sandy. (I'm actually leveling one of my mules in Windy. But it does hold a lot of my junk.) If I need to sell something in Jeuno in Bazaar, I just do it on my main character. And I do have one of my mules to the level where I could take it to Jeuno if I really needed to.

Some items you probably should not sell in Jeuno. Silk thread and Red Moko Grass have a 10k difference in price from Jeuno to Windy. So I sell them in Windy where they sell pretty fast. But things like Silent Oils, and Poison Potions sell faster and better in Jeuno. It really just comes down to what you're selling.
