Surprise for my Cuz.. Need Alexander WP please!

Hi,
I have a cousin playing on Alexander that has been playing on SWG with me for awhile ( He plays 95% FFXI and 5% SWG). I just got FFXI and would like to surprise him in-game.

Can anyone get me a World Pass for Alexander? I would find a way to repay once I get in-game.

You know with the recent update that was done there is more benefit if you have a friend on the server invite you with a Gold World Pass.

You'll get a chocopass which is like a chocobo ticket but chocobo license status is ignored. So a lv. 1 player gets to try a chocobo out before they get the license for it.

Also you and your friend get two special berrets that lets your friend of higher level force his level down to your level so he can party with you and you'll still get the benefits of the EXP.

EDIT:

Friend with the forced down level will have it returned by your berret when you activate it's enhancement effect.

Thanks for letting me know! I looked into the Gold World Pass deal, and I'm sure glad you brought it to my attention. He would have been pretty mad if I had showed up in-game and he hadn't had the chance to get me a Gold WP.

Unfortunately it looks like this promo doesn't start until May 10th, so I can't start playing until then. Heh Heh seems like an awful long time for an impatient guy like me, but I'm sure he'll appreciate it... oh well... back to SWG for a bit... :-)

Eh, only a week and 3 days. Figured if you're going to join might as well do it at the most opportune time so you can get a chance to experience more features and all before metting their requirements. The chocopass doesn't last though but gets you a chance to try the chocobos, and the cap is a decent add to. Means your friend can use a job he knows a likes to help you get to 50 at least.

How do you like Ranger anyway? (I assume Rng is Ranger). On SWG I am Master Ranger and TKM (which I believe is similar to Monk). I love all the tracking and creature knowledge skills provided. Does ranger on FFXI have similar skills?

Well we do have Wide Scan which I would guess is the tracking equivalent. Creature Knowledge if it existed I would think it be more of a BST (Beastmaster) ability. The nice thing is the sheer damage we can do with our Ranged attacks, some players preffer to sub NIN with RNG to use Utsusemi (Blink skill allows damage to be nullified) but in doing so they can't possibly reach the damage equivalent of a RNG/WAR.

I myself have always played the Mage classes I loved them, and FFXI does some nice stuff with their Mage classes but for reason I was just attracted more to Ranger on this one. Probably mostly because in a pinch with the right circumstances I can get out about 5000+ damage in a short period far faster then BLM can. Takes the right combination use of Barrage, Sidewinder, and Eagle Eye Shot as well as stating the monster right.
