Why is it a big deal, why is it relavent? Because for someone who trys to make a statement that it was 'easier for us' certainly has no problem admitting that they themselves leeched through the very essence of the summoner job. All Parties used to form properly in towns, discuss battle strategy before going out and last a long time without people suddenly leaving. Then everyone would break when everyone was tired and happy for the most part. I miss those days...:sweat:

Eriwilde's site is good but it has flaws. For one, some key droppers are way off.
Most of the other sites are just a copy/paste of her site anyways (*cough* killing ifrit *cough*) so its not that easy to get good info.

Well when they say we had it easier and then it turns out they and one other person fought the smn battles, that seems just a little retarded. It's more a matter of "think before you speak[because you say retarded crap]" than a matter of NA VS W/E.

What is the big problem about people leaving a PT after 20 mins. Yes in can get annoying, but you also have to relize that not everyone can invest tons and tons of hours to play this game. there are things in real life that are more important than playing a game for hours and hours.

This is exactly the kind of attitutde why no one wants to join NA parties and gives the entire NA community a bad name, among other things. If you can't commit at least 2-3 hours to a level up party, don't join. Finding a replacement can take over an hour or even break the party. Just imagine trying to find a replacement from Tulia or top of Delfurt (not everyone has elevator key). If you must leave in anything less than 2 hours, tell the leader ahead of time when you are joining so he can get approval from the group.

You may have a different set of schedule than others and prefer to play in small increments, but for many players, especially those working, those 3 hours of leveling up are the ONLY 3 hours they got for a given day or even a given week to play, waste your own time, don't waste others time.

I might add to that two things...

1.) Do your party a favor and don't find yourself a replacement unless you and the leader agree that you are going to. If you have told the leader you are leaving in 45 minutes, s/he is probably already trying to find somebody, and you don't want two people showing up to replace you. You end up looking really bad when you have someone run across 5 zones to join a party and the leader tells them no.

2.) Finally, if you and the leader agree that you are responsible for finding a replacement, replace yourself with the same job. If you are a MNK/WAR in a WHM,BLM,RDM,MNK,PLD,THF party, do not invite another THF to come and replace you. If nobody else can replace you with the same job, tell the leader and ask them what s/he wants.

I may be shot for this, but I have to agree with Celeras.
I believe that leeching fights like that is morally wrong.
I don't mind asking for help when it falls under one of 2 categories:
1.Something simple and quick or
2.Something you NEED help for (eg. Missions, AFs, Genkai 1 & 2, misc. quests.)

I could go on and on about the how's and why's of the whole thing,
but it pretty much boils down the fact that you didn't earn your place in the PT.
You are the subject of someone else's pity,
and (depending on how low you are) you might as well
be a rock for how much you're contributing.
Furthermore, the Avas aren't just an ending to a quest, they're one of a few PRIZES.
Unless the other 5 people are so giving and high lvled that they're completely ok
with your presence and your potential drag on the PT,
I bet they'd rather not have a substantially harder time getting what they're possibly after.
And if they are the former, would you really want them to have a harder time of it than really necessary?

You can do whatever the hell you want, but in the same situation,
I wouldn't accept the help.

The issue of my having been offered help with my avatars has absolutely nothing to do with nerfs. Celeras' only method of refuting an arugment is "You have no right to say anything cause you got help with such-and-such." Which has nothing to do with anything, and which is why I ignore him. Big whoop, you're SO cool cause you played FFXI for more than 2 years. I've played several MMORPGs that function the same way as FFXI for over 5 years - but you don't see me being an elitist.

You're gonna tell me that THF's now have as easy of a time getting a PT after the fuidama nerf? I know I don't invite them most of the time, because there is a 90% chance that they don't know how to do it properly. You're gonna tell me exp is quicker now, when gaining TP is slower than it used to be, among other things?

The point of a nerf is usually to help with class-balancing, or get rid of too-powerful aspects of the game - whether by lowering drop rates on items, or lowering stats on them. Yes, we have some more conveniences now, but some of those aforementioned nerfs used to be quite an advantage to you guys.

BTW, thanks Kristin, but don't worry about it, I just /smile and /nod at Celeras, and thank my lucky stars that I didn't end up on Rag.

You don't realize that most of the high-powered nerfs occured a hell of a long time ago, not to mention when nobody even know most of the game. It's not like we played for 2 years with 6 mp refresh from ballads and free items coming out of our ass.
