  • Clearing up a certain myth on Conquest Points. [Question]

    Hey there,

My linkshell wants to finish up to rank 10 of Windurst rank before going to the other two nations' rank first. At the moment, I'm in allegience with San d'Oria, and I might change to Windurst soon. However, I would like some help to clear up a certain myth that's been bugging me for a long time now.

Do you lose a rank and/or Conquest Points when you switch to another nation, and then switch back?

I've gone through a bunch of random posts in other forums, and there's always conflicting statements on both sides whether you lose a rank when you switch back to your original nation, and losing -all- your Conquest Points when you switch back to your original nation.

So, for anyone who've actually done the switch from Nation A -> Nation B -> Nation A care to help me out, please?

Thank you for your time.

you have a different rank and amount of cp for each country. say if you changed allegience from bastok (at rank 4) to sandoria (rank 1), youll be a rank 1 sandorian. if you change back, you go back to being a rank 4 bastokian. it's pretty much the same set up as with job lvls.

There's a patch some time ago which allows you to keep your CP after you switch country and back, written somewhere in the archive of update infomation.
      WHM 75 | BLM 37 | RDM 63 | WAR 75 | MNK 44 | NIN 37 | RNG 20
      Windurst Rank 10 | Bastok Rank 10 | Sandoria Rank 3
No more permanent stats on "In areas outside own nation's control" items.

      Sandoria is gay.

OK, the rank information that people have posted is correct, but let me clear up for you on the conquest points..

Your conquest points remain in the country where you earned them. You do not "lose" them, per se, but you also do not have access to them in your new nation. For example..

Let's say you're San D'orian now and you're changing to Windurst (works well as an example, cause that's what you said you are, and that's also what I did.. haha). Let's say you have about 50,000 conquest points in San D'oria. You change to Windurst, and now you have zero. While you're in Windurst, let's say you earn about 10,000 CP, then you decide to change back to San D'oria. You are now San D'orian again, and you have 50,000 CP again. Your 10,000 Windurstian CP remain in Windurst.

I hope that makes sense. Myself, when I changed from San to Win, I knew I would not be changing back to San, so I cashed in all my CP, got a bunch of garbage I didn't really need, sold them in the AH, and got a nice pile of cash. ^^
