Can I get my AF coffers with a different job?

I'm an RDM, but now I've lvl'ed my mnk high enough to activate my mnk AF coffer quests. So my question is if I can now look for coffers as RDM and open them. Will I get normal loots or my mnk AF despite using RDM?

I feel much safer searching with my rdm lv.60... Does anyone know if it's possible?

Nope, you can't. The only case where i know this is possible is the PLD Af3 quest in Castle Zvahl. In that case, its ok to open the coffer with a different job, since your just getting an item for the quest, and not the actual AF.

Besides that, no, you have to open the coffer with the job's AF your going for.

AF4, 5, 6, you'll only get the AF for the job you use to open them.

Because your not getting the actual AF item, but an item for the quest.. i believe i already said that with pld example. Drkspark slipped my mind:sweat:

Let me ask this (and please respond only if you've tried or are 100% sure)....

If you accepted the AF quest and need to get a coffer in Crawlers nest (for example). Your main is BRD and need the coffer in there...

Can you use a your THF (also main) to pick the lock of the coffer to get your AF item?


(I have a 50BRD and 43THF i was hoping to just pick locks to do some of my BRD AF's)
