Fenrir and The Moonlit Path

As soon as I patched and logged on today I headed straight for Windurst looking for the NPC for the Fenrir quest and found him. Leppe-Hoppe who is in South Waters on top of the Rhinostery is the quest giver and he wants you to give him six whispers. Basically you need to kill every summon and not "cash in" the Whisper, instead take all six back to Leppe-Hoppe and he will change it into the Moon Bauble. You then have to go to Full Moon Fountain to fight Fenrir except one problem, he's insanely hard. After were told he hits people for 200-400 damage per hit and has a range attack that does 700 to everyone in range we decided not to even wait in line. There was over 50 people in there with us all kitted out in amazing gear and at least level 70 which was really disheartening after a lot of hard work and effort. We were told that level 75 parties were getting slaughtered....



If anyone hears anything on this fight regarding tactics and what Fenrir does in the way of attacks please post.

Crescent Fang additional effect: Paralyze
Lunar Cry mob accuracy and evade down
Lunar Roar erase 2x mobs (area) magic effect (double dispel)?
1st quarter moon growl party ability up
Last quarter moon howl party acc. + evade up
Eclipse bite 3 hits
Howling moon min MP: level x 2 dark element dmg on all mobs in area

i haven't actually done any of the avatar fights, but can you cast stun to stop any special attacks they may use? or do they use them instantly so that they can't be stunned.. or so many that you can't stun them all... or.. i need to go on some avatar fights ; ;

Our lead HNM LS on Midgard, NewCompany, Unlocked this bad boy already. I saw him as i was zoning out from Port Jeuno on my way to level my thf off beetles. And was just blown away at seeing it getting unlocked so fast. I woulda thought atleast another day or two would pass before someone figured out how to beat him down.

Hmmm, Russta. When you say don't cash in do you mean take the new Rare/Ex Items or just don't cash in like as if your were getting the summon monster instead?

No, I mean when you beat the Avatar and get the Whisper do not even go back and speak to the original NPC giver.

Regarding the new items, what the hell are they for? So far I've only checked Titan's and it was some Rare EX potion called "Desert Light" which was irritating. I was expecting a new weapon or armour or something as no doubt most other people were.

I'm going to find that out soon, when I talked to the NPC he didn't offer it again. It was the same dialogue before you go to gather the 6 things.

Our first two battles (where I plopped to death beside ur AFKing) we did a bit of experimentation, no SP. We decided that keeping Blink up would be priority because curing is simply too much.

We also realized on our third (win) that Invincible did nearly nothing for PLD keeping target after the howling SP.

I also think you can kill this with five back members, or five high summoners.
