well, if you want to mention DAoC...that game is so much easier than FFXI

    BCNM rabbits vs Dragon...

I've killed the dragon with 7 people. I'd think the dragon would be considered HNM level in DAoC too...

    AF quests vs Epic quest...

AF quests don't make you run from Norg to Teriggan and back...I soloed my epics too ;p

    First to level XXX...

I was one of the first wizards to 50 on my server and the first necro to 50...3 months on wizard, 2 weeks on necro. I still haven't hit 75 here ;p

please don't compare ffxi to daoc =) it makes me cry.

edit: about 3-4 million RPs acquired throughout my characters too...not a daoc noob ;p

then compare FFXI to what you can do in EQ. and i tell you, FFXI doesn't hold a candle to the difficulty, and amount of organized structure you need to do things in EQ.

Regarding epic weapons, i was talking about the EQ epics.

i haven't played EQ, but from the looks of dynamis...

I think it'd be somewhat similar.

Dynamis is similar to EQ raids, albeit middle game raids, not even close to what end game raids are. 64 people is about 1/3 of the amount of people in an EQ end game raid. Also, you have a time limit for dynamis. Also it'sjust a matter of using an item (hourglass) to enter dynamis.

Many of the EQ endgame places (planes of power zones specifically), it would take a whole guild of 60-70 ppl many many hours to even forge their way to where the real action (HNMs) were at. You'd have to clear zones of HNM's just to reach the goal of where you wanted to go. Not only was killin the NM satisfying, but just the trip to get there (you had to get flagged for the zone, then you had to clear our the mobs in your way, which could take days or weeks) was rewarding in itself.

I wish i could say that FFXI is more challenging than EQ was, but until i see some content that is proven challenging, i just can't see accomplishments in FFXI as something you can boast about.

P.S Fenrir Prime as challenging as some may put it, along with Genkai V is "NOT" a definition of MMORPG challenging. If LS's or people can do this within one day upon it being released, it's just not hard enough to merit boasting about.

I respect that people set goals for themselves in this game. I also respect the fact that when people meet these goals, they are obviously satisfied and feel ilke they accomplished something. Heck, even I (or anyone really who plays these types of games) follow that whole process myself.

Goal set ---> Goal Get ---> happy player ---> shares accomplishments with others

what i do not like is that some of the people who brag about what they've done, yadda yadda, are the same people who will continually cut down other players because they have had more experience and time with the game than the people who have been playing since late 2003. Some of these "elite" players have accomplished the hard things that FFXI has thrown at them, but as i have mentioned time and time again, these said things do not compare with some of the challenging things that other MMORPG's throw at its players.

If you were to peruse the posts under Strictly In-game Talk>(Ragnarok specifically), you will find lots of bloated and pompous people who have been playing this game for well over a year on the JP client poking fun of "NA'ers" and then being the same ones to boast about what accomplishments they have done.

Reading these boards for over a year now, i have seen many flames, rants, and elitist posts that have wasted my time and energy, as i /sigh at what some of these people think makes them better than another. I'm not usually one to express my opinions about such matters on this forum, but threads like this are the "straw that breaks the camel's back", and it's quite hard to not put these importers into their proper place.

Mind you, i myself imported this game a year ago, and i came into this game with an attitude of being willing to learn and accepting criticism. i understand that this is a different game from say Everquest or DAOC Of UO or SWG or SB or one of the many MMORPG's that are out there, but there is one thing that all of these types of games share in common - social/community interaction.

FFXI has to have one of THE WORST social/community groups (especially from the viewpoint of someone who can see such hatred between importers and NA players).

Funny though, the JP don't see it as:
JP>IMPORTER>NA they just see it as: JP>NA. it's just the deluded people who imported this game that try to create the middle class between JP and NA players. And disappointingly, this atmosphere resides in the "reeking and importer infested" server of Ragnarok.

To all those importers who are helpful and supportive of your NA brothers, i commend you. Instead of a destructive and negative attitude, you are building this game up into something that everyone can enjoy instead of puttin up walls between you and other players. That is the attitude that we should all (JP, NA, Importers) be taking.

Keep up the good work! :spin:

Plz dun compare other MMORPG, that is not the purpose of this thread and that is not the intention of pple playing FFXI> just to compare which is better. The thread say accomplishment in FFXI, and not in DAoC , UO and EQ

The title say accomplishment SO FAR, so different players at diff lvl will posts differently, a lv 40 player will say BCNM40 is his best moments at the mean time. ... blah blah blah

U say abt JP>NA, Just that at this moment, there aint enuff high lvl NA to make a significant impact. plz give some time and stop ranting. U cant expect NA to be overnite lv75 and be competing with the JP. So for now, JP > NA, period.

u mention abt JP>importer too, well how do u know importers are not trying! Plz lvl up more, go to more HNM hunts, go to dynamis more, see who's who in the high synthesis lvl, then u will know whats happening.

And when u re high lv , how do u like it when a low lvl come along asking for AF help every 5mins. Most importers wait for shouts, if i dun get it today i wait another day . and It is not that high lvl importers dun wanna help NA, but its spoils ur game cos the AF NM becomes too easy.

              Most memorable achievement:

Being able to mix in completely with a group of JP players and make friends with them. THAT to me is WHAT makes ME still come back into the game again and again even though i am in semi-retirement now. It's definitely more fun then compared to the time when i was roaming around vana'diel like a lonewolf (which i still am for the most part)

Other things like getting to whatever lvl or what not can't simply compete with that joy.

                  OMG EQ IS SO HARD

It is impossible to compare any of the games, stop trying to sound intelligent. Talking about dynamis? Talking about anything in ffxi?

You're like level 5, which amounts to a whole whopping zero as to the content of this game. Go to dynamis, go to fight hnm gods, then try and say anything about the game. You know nothing, I know nothing, most of us know nothing as to how hard the entire game actually is.

Hmm i duno - I would say Imorting alone at first and getting accustomed to things but thanks to many people like Bebetaro, Elite, Ping and others on the boards it wasn't too difficult. So ugh . . . i'd say affording my current equipment off of solo methods like farming and basic NM hunting without any BCNMs or aid from HNM LSs would be one of my larger accomplishments. Other than that? ehh too much help from others to really brag about or claim i did lol.

Jeez, and I thought killing him at 64 was something:spin: If you really killed him with a snigle group at 62, that must have been one hell of a battle.
