Originally posted by krycis Well a guy with dispirite, albeit awesome armor, spawned behind me; he disappeared shortly there after "/smile-ing and afterwards I had 30k in my pocket. I did however get a message every ten steps that said, "your butt is tired" and my movement seemed really slow.
I think he's cracking a joke about being bent over by a pimp or something and getting paid for it, ... but I can't tell.
...and what the hell does dispirite mean?
EDIT: to save a double-post, I'll just throw in that I'd also like to know what I can do at lvl 30-ish to make some cash and fund my ranger. Please and thank you.
Alright.... who farted?

Sorry man, but Demon told me that we had to organize better BCNM40 and so we'll do it another time......damn sorry, told me when and I'll be there when you want!!
There is one thing I have noticed in the game is that you never really loose money unless you are buying spells or transportation via choco, boat, or airships, or buying items for crafting purposes, excluding high level crafts.
The great thing about this game is that the economy is very stable. Items fluctuate somewhat, but hold their base value, so even though you may sink 50k into an armor, when it comes time to upgrade, you get the money back. The only time I've lost money is in the above situations.
I can not imagine how money was made when the game first came out. I'm assuming it was choice repeatable quests and such, cause you get absolutely nuthing for most drops in the game for the lower to midd levels.

When the game first started those lower to mid level equips were the high level equips therefore holding a lot more value than they do today.
If your at least remotely close to 70 , just do bc70 and the chance to make a million gil is always there. I made around 5-6million just doing 3 bcs 70s alone >>. But the least you can make is like 10k if your not lucky.
Yeah i used to hunt orc in davoi long ago, but the drop rates were fked so I stick to another hunt which gives me a nice amount soon enough. /looks at haubergion.
yeah, what's up with drop rates changing... i'm seriously thinking that your level can affect drop rates of certain items... for example when i was 14 exping off of gobs that dropped scale gear (useless for my mnk) i got quite a few drops... but i bring my now 30mnk in to harvest a full set of gear for my bst that just hit 10 and i get nil drops... it just gets me... and i'm also reminded of a time i was camping for strike baghnakhs... i was 18mnk/5war at the time and got them on the first try... despite a 25 sitting there camping him for a full day 0/24... and here i was at 1/3 it makes me wonder sometimes... so i'm thinking i'm going to start camping nms with my bst in the right levels or my nin... like lizzy spawn would give some of my jobs exp and maybe an increased drop rate... then again i could be wrong... i'm just guessing
heres somethng you can try if you hate farming, something i do time to time and is 99.9% effective because for some reason at least once a day there someone who buys the spell Aspir(many times its sold 2-10 times, this is in about mosy of the servers AHs too, not just ragnaroks, I have checked AH history on Bismarck,Alexander,Asura,Remora,Hades,Leviathan,Valefor
This only really works, if you can :
-get to jueno AH,
-and if Bastok is in 2nd or 1st,
-and if you have at least 13-15k gil investment
- Have 1 hour (54 minutes, I have timed my self countless times XD),
- There is at least 1 answer sheet available in Windurst AH (90% of Answer Sheets are sold here for obvious reasons, checking other Ahs for it is a waste of time, unless Windys does not have any in stock)
- You have 1 mule(can be in Bastok or Windy, your choice)
---------------
OK once you have those, heres what you do,
Aspir sells for 20-80k gil on Jueno, really depends, I thnk last I checked on Ragnarok it was like 30K+ dunno.
You use your mule or yourself(I recommend create useless mule in Windurst and you go to bastok with empty inventory) and go to bastok, go to the Music shop and buy Cornettes from :Harmodios @ Bastok markets Location: K-10 - for 224 - 253 gil. Buy like 55,(which is like 14k), send them to your mule in windurst, all 55 of them, (this may take like 10-20 minutes, because you can only send 8 at a time, and you gotta run back to shop to refill inventory.)
Now log on your mule and take all those Cornettes and go to Windurst Walls (E-5) Talk to Yoran-Oran. Now trade 1 Cornette at a time, and repeat till your full, he will be giving you 200 Gil per cornette (so you lose 24-53 gil, but you get tons of fame in like 10 minutes(time it takes to trade 55 cornettes) So you spent 14k to buy 55 Cornettes but you get back 11k from trading the 55 cornettes to him and you get enough fame for Aspir quest...(You will get the quest no matter what lvl, so your Lv.1 mule will have it)
Ok now, you take that 11k gil on your mule and buy from Ah 1 bird feather, for like 100-400 gil, and buy Answer Sheets from the Misc. section of Windy walls AH. Answer sheets run from 4-10k, hopefully youll get lucky and win bid @ 5k leaving you with 5-6k gil left.
Now you take this same mule(who did cornette quest 55 times and bought answer sheets) run outside and kill mandys (very easy to do even on your Lv.1 mule, if you make your mule a monk, you can 2 hour and make it easier to get the drop you need)
The drop you need from the Tiny Mandragoras, is a 2-Leaf Mandragora Bud. This drops usualy 1 out of every 3 kills, so it shouldnt take more than 2 minutes to get.
Now go to windurst Waters and do the Teacher's Pet quest, Talk to Moreno-Toeno @ Aurastery (L-7 [North])
you will trade the 2 leaf bud you got and the feather you bought to him and get 250 Gil back and the ability to now unlock and do Aspir quest.
Go to Aurastery (L-6 [North]) talk to Fuepepe to get the "Making the Grade" quest which is Aspir quest. Now trade her the Answer sheets you bought, and then she will say to take it to, Koru-Moru, in Windurst Walls. He is @ Manor (E-7) in Windurst Walls. He tells you to return to Fuepepe and gives you a key-item for Chomoro-Kyotoro
(you dont even have to talk to him to get aspir cause when you speak with Fuepepe you receive
Scroll: Aspir. )
OK now send that Aspir scroll and your leftover gil from your mule to your Main who might be still in Bastok, Now you just sell it in Jueno for whatever the price is (25-80k usually) Once it sells, which may take 1-18 hours you make like 25-80k, and please note, this is alot of steps, but it only takes 1 hour, if you follow the steps, youll be busy it will go by fast but you will have an item which value is worth enough gil(30-80k) to justify the 1 hour earth time spent, also you can delete your mule and create a new one and rinse and repeat, and in hours you will have several aspir scrolls, as long as there is Answer sheets in Windys(or others if you happen to find themt here) Ah. You can farm the answer sheets to save gil, but the time it takes causes the gil you get frmo aspir to make it not worth it.(if you are making 30-80k an hour from aspir scrolls why spend almost an hour to get an item worth 5-10k >.< )
even if you overflow Ah just set your prices accordlingy and your aspir scrolls will sell( there has been times with 5 or more scrolls in ah, and i eventually lowered prices to 25k, but once like 4 of them sold that was 100k divided by 4 hours, 25k an hour not bad... also who cares if your screwing up the economy by deleting adn recreating mules for sake of aspir quest purpose, the encomoy is so huge that the difference you earn in profit (30-80k) is not enough to make a big gap.
