infernal affairs... good movie(s) ^_^ ... but yeah... theres not really a way to draw SE's attention in game, unless a lot of people quit... but I doubt that is going to happen anytime soon
I'm sure if we formed a chain of players that extended from Jeuno to Zi'Tah then proceeded to poison ourselves to death in succession from Jeuno to Zi'Tah, that might send a hint.
lostbeatz i been pointing that out for a month now. nobody believed me. and then they sat there an claimed there was no connection between cornering the market n gil sellers. replying there was no evidence.. but now there is one peice of proof..
problem is there not targeting rare/exe cause it is worthless to sell. an to make more items like the rare/exe kind will only force gil sellers to farm other areas even worse. yey my emp hairpin is rare/exe. how many more would camp that now.. an cause i dont belong to a huge ls. how would i flood valkum to get it?
a.h tracking/ delivery box tracking can narrow it down with in a week. thus those players are now watched even closer til s.e feels the need to boot them.. shit there are so many different way s.e can catch them.. or put a cripple on them..

Unless SE can catch them in the act of selling gil they havn't caught anybody. All they can prove is that these people are making the gil and that they're sending it to others. They can only assume there's a dollar transaction going on outside of the game, but unless they have a reciept or visual proof they can't do anything.
so...barring a mass ingame suicide, what exactly can be done? letters and GM calls don't work and this crap is getting old and tired. all the decent spots to farm have been pillaged. i have to go out of the way to farm now, it blows having to travel through a bunch of zones just to kill some stuff and make a bit of gil.
How many people have at least fired off an email to SE concerning this?
How many people have sent letters? Complaints? Spoken to GMs?
Posts are great for getting the word out, but won't do much for SE unless they see it. Flooding them with letters and continuously asking GMs what's being done is sure to raise at least an eyebrow or two. The thing is, lots of people have to do it.
i've spoken to a GM about it several times and sent an email. when someone stands there with the morion worm for three hours straight recasting stoneskin it kinda makes ya lose motivation. of course jammer leeches solve the problem most of the time, at least for a little while.
if over 100 people each on the 30 or so worlds did massive civil disobedience. they could lose a half a million dollars in revenue in canceled accounts.

i bet sq-e would listen if a half million usd was gonna be lost.
people have done some weird things on mmorg's to protest policies on games or the inaction of the developers.
here is an example that was mentioned in a Guardian article about virtual protests:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/online/st...,903318,00.html
In 1999, in a protest over software glitches inside Ultima Online, a group of players lost their rag with the company and staged a coup. They stormed the castle of Lord British, Ultima's monarch and the alter-ego of its founder, Richard Garriot, and murdered his character.
A similar thing was done in SWG. All the players went into one town and started spamming the shout channel. It would have crashed the server had the company not started randomly teleporting people to other places. Some people actually ended up in space.

Yeah, many of us, including myself, probably haven't done this. They get enough complaints, they will listen.

How did they get past the genkais? And here I thought the 60+ farming areas were safe from gil sellers. Curse those gil sellers, and all the players that buy gil from them. Curse them all!

Take the hit, shrug it off, and ask if their mom hits any harder.

fact is they get flooded with tells all the time. thus why they have a special section on the help desk asking people not to spam them anymore with it.. and that it is being looked at. also i cant tell you how many other ffxi websites had petitions made that people where signing to be sent to S.E headquarters..
sure s.e has no real proof that it isnt just ingame trading. but funny thing is when you agreed to S.E's rules an conduct. you also gave them the right to suspend your account or terminate it. if they suspect you with foul play.. thus they dont need hard evidence, proof.. an you have ok'd it...

Phew, all this sounds really serious! Im still a newbie so things like this don't conern me right now, but these gil-sellers sound like complete arse bandits!

One of the previous posts here says how. They are buying the characters that people who have gotten past then genkai are selling.
