    • I run the benchmark today with ATI Radeon 9700 PRO and P4 2.5GHZ with 512 MB RAM.

      Should I not get a better scroe when even tough I do not run any programs :S

        AMD Athlon XP 2100+ @ ~1733Mhz
        512MB Corsair DDR PC3200 C2 RAM
        Asus A7V333 MotherBoard
        Two Western Digital 40Gb 7200RPM ATA100 HardDrives used by a Promise TX2000 RAID 0 (Stripe)
        Asus GeForce4 TI 4600 128Mb
        Sound Blaster Audigy

        • yuna544, you should reinstall the following items after the reformat.

          - The latest updates and service packs for your windows version, see http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

          - The latest drivers for your video card, see the manifacturer web site (IE ati.com or nvidia.com)

          - The latest DirectX version, see http://www.microsoft.com/directx/

          Re-downloading the benchmark does not apply as a potential solution.

            Oh, I switched from using motherboard AC97 sound to a sound blaster PCI 512 I found in the closet. Less load on the CPU gave me 30 more points. 30! w00ty X3.

                  • Yep laptops are known for overheating by next-gen games so I doubt it can run the acctuall FFXI without overheating.

                    • I had basically lost hope that I could ever run this after reading through this thread...but it turns out that I'll be able to run it after all- maybe not well, but it'll run

                            • yes it lags and the graphic isnt TAHT good ....but when i get my Radeon 9700 ...it will not lag and my graphics gonna be SOOOO good

                              • Nice ^^ I got a Radeon 9700 PRO and it's a real good graphics card. All my games can lay the game at best quality ^^ I get 6137 on the Benchmark with that card
