512MB DDR333 PC2700
Asus A7V8X-X
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
Win XP Pro.
My score is around 4800 - 4900. Is this correct? by looking at some of the other systems and there score should it be a little higher? If it should can anyone help me as to how I can get it to what it should be.

Ok I went here http://www.playonline.com/ff11win/wina2.html and pressed i agree and when it tries to d/l the benchmark i get this error [1608: Unable to create InstallDriver instance]. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanx in adavnce :spin:
*EDIT* Come to think of it I have this problem a lot. When I try to setup programs and software something always goes wrong with the InstallShield/Driver. If I don't figure this out I may not be able to play the game on my computer seeing as how it has an installshield you must install also. If someone could help it would help me A LOT! Thanx.

How did you overclock you G-Card?
Now after you have the newest drivers, right click on the background of your computer, and click properties.
Next go to the settings Tab and click Advanced.
Then click on GeForce 4 MX 440.
On a left bar that should pull up, click on clock frequencies.
Then click on Allow clock frequency adjustment.
After that, it'll restart your pc.
Then when you get in, you can move the core clock and memory clock frequency, after doing so click test, and if it shows it works, then apply.
WARNING: Be extra carfull with adjusting these settings, you may accidently ruin your video card if you don't know how to work it.
I am giving you this warning so you cannot say I never told you that it can ruin your card.
I'll let you figure the rest out, currently im at 303 MHZ on my core clock frequency, while the default is normally at 270 MHZ.
and my memory clock frequency is at 451 MHZ while the default is normally at 400 MHZ.
Hope this helps.

Two overclocking utilities for nvidia cards are coolbits and rivatuner- coolbits is pretty simple, rivatuner is more complex but gives you better control.
I have never tried Rivatuner, but that also might work just like Coolbits doesn't work for the GeForce 4 series.
GeForce 4 has drivers that allows you to overclock it.

Okay ive just sat and read all the pages X_X but i still havnt found any usuful solutions there for me.
My computer :
Windows Xp Home Edition
1.5ghz Pentium 4
512 ram
35gb
128mb Geforce 4800 Ti
My Score : 2300 - 2500
I dont really want to fork out any more money on my pc.
(I havn't overclocked anything yet but...)
Is there some settings or minor overclocking i could do to boost my score to something more suitable?
Any recommendations for me?

Sephiroth Renzo:
from what I can tell, you should really be getting a better score than 230-2500. What I recommend is turning off unnecessary programs and utilities that are running to free up RAM.
If you are still getting a low score or you have already done this, then you might want to go into your startup folder and disable program launches at start up, but I warn you only to disable autolaunch to programs you know are unnecessary (eg: AIM, Kazaa, AOL Startup, etc.).
Even if that doesn't help...then open up the task manager (ctrl+Alt+Delete) and under processes, disable only the processes that you know are just using up memory. If you disable the wrong things...then you'll have to restart your comp. A for the processes, if under User Name it says SYSTEM, then you should leave that untouched. Same with NETWORK SERVICE and LOCAL SERVICE, which are usually internet, network processes.
Now...if you still want to get a better score just by tweaking your software and not spending money, I suggest looking up registry edits and so forth that can speed up RAM and your system. But this is a last resort as I have thoroughly destroyed my computer twice with registry edits and had to reformat. Just be careful and take it one step at a time and you should be fine.Name - Spatuazle **DELETED**

Ah still no luck, same score.
Well i always make sure i have no junk on start up by using msconfig, i also ran my anti virus scan last night to see if i had any viruses causing the problem, but that wasnt it either.
(and yeah i did make sure my virus scanner was fully disabled before i tried the benchmark)
I tried the processes thing, and left only the things required to run my computer, but still the same score.
Oh, i've not long had the graphics card, i just installed it without uninstalling the old one like the instructions said. (But ive heard people say you need to uninstall your old card before you install the new?)
Hmm, 8 gb / 35 gb.
Perhaps my only option is to reboot my system from the very start?
I appreciate you taking time to help me Trapezius

renzo, you should be getting a fairly good score.. but i cant think of anything else that could bring down your score that much...
anyways, heres my comp:
Windows 98SE
2.4 ghz Pentium 4
512 ram
100 gb HDD space
GeForce FX 5200
Soyo Dragon Ultra motherboard
hey, that might be a problem renzo. what kind of motherboard do you have?
oh yeah, i got about 4000 on the benchmark, dont remember the exact number~Chipmunk~
