Are you telling me that they are exactly the same (Geforce FX 5200 128MB and Radeon 9200SE 64MB) ?

I mean FFXI doesn't need a 128MB vid card, right?

ffxi needs a 32mb card. get the cheaper of the two card and get at least 384mb ram. then save for a new comp. after next year, my year old comp with a 2.5 p4, 64mb ti4200, and 512mb ram will be unable to play the best games. yours won't be able to play next year's games.

For my age, I should have had millions of computer games. No, I have never bought a computer game ever... I usually use a PS2, etc. But with the time and price, I decided to upgrade my computer.

Thank you and this is what I'll be getting:

(2) 256 MB RAM Memory Modules
Xtasy Radeon 9200SE PCI

$190 including tax. (I did pretty well)

These will be my specs after the upgrade:

HP Pavilion
Intel Celeron Processor at 1.2 GHZ
512 MB RAM
Radeon 9200SE video card

I have finally found my perfect upgrade, and I'll get it probably next week.

like i said, get centrino tech, it will help you in the long run. if you wait 3 months to get a new laptop, im sure they will have a card better than the gf4 ti4200 for them, over 2.8gh p4, 1gig of ram, and other goodies for you to enjoy ffxi with.

I'm getting my upgrade in a few days.. yah!
Looking at over 100 computer specs/ benchmark, I have found
that my score will go from 1500-3000, but we'll see. It depends on the computer, I guess.. heheh.. As long as I CAN play FFXI, I won't care... :p
That laptop seems intriging...
Next year, definitly.

I know if I change the features of my computer around, I know I will be able to play it very well.

system specs

I have a question about my Benchmark score. I average a 3600-3700 on the bench. But i don't know if that seems right, i think my processor is bringing down my score. and i'm looking for peoples thoughts.

System specs:

AMD 2200+ (1.8ghz)
1 gig of pc2700 ddr ram (333mhz)
radeon 9600 pro (32bpp, 1024x768)
80 gig hdd (7200 rpm's)
MSI KT4V Ultra 8X motherbored

both the proccessor and the vid card are not too good. get the 9500 and turn it to a 9700, or get a 9700-9800. i really don't like amd....

I get 3150 for the benchmark. I'm thinking about upgrading my video card, but I'm not sure which way to go. Trying to balance the following factors:

-sHaDoW hEal2t experience with the Radeon 9600 Pro (which I was thinking about getting; maybe it's not the best route?)
-Don't really want to spend more than $200, and the other Radeon cards seem pretty expensive from what I've seen
-Recent benchmark releases for HL2, projecting that Nvidia's cards won't line up; so I'm primarily looking at ATI cards.

Any suggestions? Anyelse used the Radeon 9600 Pro?
