    • A new Video Card would definetly improve your Benchmark score. I'd recommend an ati radeon 9500.

      • I'd really recommend another stick of 256mb ram as well, Windows XP will run MUCH quicker with 512mb and it's dirt cheap atm

BTW, all you need is a video card. This game used the graphic card intensively above 640x480 res.

            384MB RDRAM

                  • Wow, the GeForce2 MX 400 sounds like a popular card... ditch it!

ffxi runs on Microsoft D3D 8.1 so all you really need is a good gpu core. Any nvidia geforce 4 or any ati radeon 9x00 series card will do.

Do not worry about the ammount of RAM too much, as long as you have 256MB+ you are okay, now the speed of the RAM matters. DDR is your friend.

If it is built for games I believe it.

Give us more details about it $$

I think I mentioned this earlier in the thread.

WinXP uses a strange algorithm to access RAM. It is a new hack of a security feature to cover up some stack holes in the first version of WinXP ( the recalled edition ;p ). It just slows the system down altogether.

No other version of windows uses this, and it shows.
