  • Re: D&D

I'm just as confused as you. I was under the impression that Murph's absence last week was a fluke due to his sister throwing a party for what sounded like demons.

I'm confused, is Murph removing himself or are we voting to boot him? I'd rather not boot him if he'd like to play. If he doesn't want to play then we should play without him.

As far as landscape, I'm down for whatever. I wouldn't mind getting out of the mountains, expecially since Yyg says he has great ideas, but none of them involve our current surroundings, lol... And entertained DM with make for a more entertaining campaign, fyi...

Oh nonono. I simply meant that if we continued this same path next week, we'd be introducing Murph into the thick of things whereas if we started fresh, it wouldn't feel as clumsy to suddenly have a pushy PLD in the party throwing lawful good all over the place in the mountains.

We're not booting Murph. Man... I need to work on my wording next time.

          option 1: No Murph

I'll go with Murphie's decision. He's the one that has to deal with jumping in mid-campaign. A recap wouldn't be terribly difficult but I can understand if he'd rather start fresh.

He didn't exactly miss any critical plot points such that he'd be lost if he jumped in now.

I agree with Armando. We do need to hear from Murphie though, to make sure him missing last get together was the exception and not the rule.

Here's a sneak peak of what's in store once the Naked Action Wizard hits level 6:

                        Point Blank Shot [General]
                        Benefit
You get a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls with ranged weapons at ranges of up to 30 feet.

                        Special
A fighter may select Point Blank Shot as one of his fighter bonus feats.

                        +

                        Precise Shot [General]
                        Prerequisite
                        Point Blank Shot.

                        Benefit
You can shoot or throw ranged weapons at an opponent engaged in melee without taking the standard -4 penalty on your attack roll.

                        Special
A fighter may select Precise Shot as one of his fighter bonus feats.

                        +

                        Rapid Reload [General]
Choose a type of crossbow (hand, light, or heavy).

                        Prerequisite
                        Weapon Proficiency (crossbow type chosen).

                        Benefit
The time required for you to reload your chosen type of crossbow is reduced to a free action (for a hand or light crossbow) or a move action (for a heavy crossbow). Reloading a crossbow still provokes an attack of opportunity.

If you have selected this feat for hand crossbow or light crossbow, you may fire that weapon as many times in a full attack action as you could attack if you were using a bow.

                        Normal
A character without this feat needs a move action to reload a hand or light crossbow, or a full-round action to reload a heavy crossbow.

                        Special
You can gain Rapid Reload multiple times. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a new type of crossbow.

A fighter may select Rapid Reload as one of his fighter bonus feats.

                        +

                        Rapid Shot [General]
                        Prerequisites
                        Dex 13, Point Blank Shot.

                        Benefit
You can get one extra attack per round with a ranged weapon. The attack is at your highest base attack bonus, but each attack you make in that round (the extra one and the normal ones) takes a -2 penalty. You must use the full attack action to use this feat.

                        Special
A fighter may select Rapid Shot as one of his fighter bonus feats.

A 2nd-level ranger who has chosen the archery combat style is treated as having Rapid Shot, even if he does not have the prerequisites for it, but only when he is wearing light or no armor.

                        +

                        Protection from Arrows
                        Abjuration
                        Level: Sor/Wiz 2
                        Components: V, S, F
                        Casting Time: 1 standard action
                        Range: Touch
                        Target: Creature touched
Duration: 1 hour/level or until discharged
                        Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
                        Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)

The warded creature gains resistance to ranged weapons. The subject gains damage reduction 10/magic against ranged weapons. (This spell doesn’t grant you the ability to damage creatures with similar damage reduction.) Once the spell has prevented a total of 10 points of damage per caster level (maximum 100 points), it is discharged.

                        Focus
A piece of shell from a tortoise or a turtle.

                        +

                        Fly
                        Transmutation
                        Level: Sor/Wiz 3, Travel 3
                        Components: V, S, F/DF
                        Casting Time: 1 standard action
                        Range: Touch
                        Target: Creature touched
                        Duration: 1 min./level
                        Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless)
                        Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)

The subject can fly at a speed of 60 feet (or 40 feet if it wears medium or heavy armor, or if it carries a medium or heavy load). It can ascend at half speed and descend at double speed, and its maneuverability is good. Using a fly spell requires only as much concentration as walking, so the subject can attack or cast spells normally. The subject of a fly spell can charge but not run, and it cannot carry aloft more weight than its maximum load, plus any armor it wears.

Should the spell duration expire while the subject is still aloft, the magic fails slowly. The subject floats downward 60 feet per round for 1d6 rounds. If it reaches the ground in that amount of time, it lands safely. If not, it falls the rest of the distance, taking 1d6 points of damage per 10 feet of fall. Since dispelling a spell effectively ends it, the subject also descends in this way if the fly spell is dispelled, but not if it is negated by an antimagic field.

                        Arcane Focus
A wing feather from any bird.

= a Naked Action Wizard that it immune to ranged attacks, flying 30 feet above the enemy, raining down on them 2 bolts every round with my Normal +6 attack bonus, only reciving a -2 penalty, so 2 bolts doing 1d10 each with a new +4 attack roll.
