Re: D&D
The liklihood that that I'll pit you against a dragon is slim. The cliche' attached to a dragon encounter makes my stomach turn.
As for dangerous terrain... yeah... I enjoy it. The thought of forcing players to come up with creative ways to battle the elements is entertaining. I had the cave planned out from the start... but I had to get creative with why you fell through. I originally expected you to start a fire (and you almost did). When you didn't, I opted for the collapse to be caused by body heat. 5/6 of you laying on the cold earth was enough to thaw it over the course of several hours.
My appologies for seeming a little ill-prepared for a few of those moments in the session. I didn't think the UI would stump me as much as it did. When I play on a real table-top, I'm afforded the chance to draw out encounters... or use miniatures more freely.
Also: You guys burned through about 30 minutes worth of the session by avoiding the initial fight that I had planned out to be inevitable. Grats to that btw.
Today I'll be adding locations to the world map so that it's more easily read. I'll also be increasing the map size so that it can accomadate more locations.
For the next get-together, I have about a dozen things planned... and plenty of oportunities for everyone to shine. Hopefully Murph's addition next time will bring some more realism to his role in the party. It's hard for me to DM and try to play a L/G Paladin at the same time.
Bleh.
STay tuned here for sneak peeks at next session's events. I'll post some teasers a little later when I have more time.
