  • Re: D&D

I avoided getting shot in the back of the head, scared the hell out of a couple of guards twice my size, and my survival skill turned out to be super useful, so even though I only dished out 1 damage the entire session, I'm pretty ok with my contribution.

To be fair they may have been more scared of Mezlo's penis than you...

Armando was at 0 HP for most of the session becuase Yyg wouldn't let me force your character to tank.

I rolled horribly for pretty much every single skill or damage roll that would be of ANY use to the party.
Hey, at least I helped to set the bridge on fire. That was pretty much the only thing I could come up with to contribute to that fight since you all had the brilliant idea of not running the hell away like sensible folk.

I'm going to get you all to run away from a fight sooner or later.

I liked my idea better. Besides, I figured cutting the bridge loose would take too long. I mean, have you seen how thick the ropes for some of those bridges are? It would take a while to properly hack through them.

If we had run away there's no guarantee they wouldn't have found us later on. Also they totally lined up for us.

Yeah, the combat advantage afforded by that massive choke point were too good to pass up.

The idea of standing up being a special class feature amuses me a great deal.

I'm probably going to go with that or train spotting.

So, you guys are sure I was ok with bridge burning? Like, was it municipal property?

It's a mystery, really. It was out in the wilderness on a footpath. It wasn't wide enough to accommodate a cart nor steady enough to support a pack animal, so any possible impact on trade or commerce would be negligible. If anyone living on the mountain gets a snake bite and has urgent need of the quality of medical attention that might be afforded by a lesser hamlet, I suppose there is potential for negative externalities as a result of our tactical demolition.

You were hacking ineffectively at the support ropes, though, so I assume you didn't feel obligated by your alignment to consider those possibilities.

It was an old rope bridge between two cliff faces in a mountain. As soon as we took the first step Yyg ambushed us with 10 guards equipped with crossbows that tried to kill us. We ran across the bridge (I was in the rear and got incapacitated halfway through) and they gave chase, so we burned it to kill the dumb ones that stayed on the bridge and more importantly to make sure they couldn't follow and kill us in our sleep.

It would've been better for you to take up the rear but we didn't know you had Toughness so we were going by my 19 AC vs your 18 and didn't consider your 15 HP vs my 11.

I'm still not sure why we decided to have you bring up the rear. I'm slower, have higher AC and am not the healer.
