Re: D&D
A game about some dude's gate is about as appealing to me as a game about a fence. Or at least that's what I thought back when Baldur's Gate was a thing and I had no fucking idea what it was about.

Re: D&D
Okay, complete.
Kal
True Neutral Halfling Fighter/Rogue
HP: 12
AC: 20
12 STR (+1)
16 DEX (+3)
14 CON (+2)
10 INT (+0)
12 WIS (+1)
14 CHA (+2)
Trained skills: Intimidate (lol 6), Survival (5)
Starting feats: Combat Reflexes, Bodyguard
Starting items: Scimitar, Halfling Sling-staff, Scale Mail, Heavy Wooden Shield, 98 gp
Kal was a bodyguard and enforcer for a prominent halfling businessman named Baram. Baram was not a particularly cunning or ruthless man, which made him somewhat unsuited for some of the shadier side-ventures he dabbled in to supplement his trading income. Kal's work in protecting his employer was competent, but a fool who courts with danger soon meets the end he deserves one way or another. When Baram's less scrupulous competition moved in to take his place, Kal soon found himself unable to find work or even safely show his face in his home city, and took to a life on the road, seeking whatever mercenary work he could find.
Kal has a pragmatic view of life and few wishes. At the end of the day he wants a juicy cut of meat and a safe place to lay his head, and he doesn't much care where his coin comes from so long as the work seems honest enough. This lack of either avarice or ambition has kept him away from high adventure or serious mischief; both are good ways to get killed and the rewards they offer don't leave you any better fed or rested. This pragmatism extends to his view of combat as well: A fair fight is fine if that's the best you can come by, but if a foe shows his back you put a knife in it. Done deal.

You get 10+ your INT modifier... which in your case is 0. so you have 10 points to place across any skills (besides trained skills). Keep in mind that your Rank in any given skill cannot exceed your level. So put 1 rank into the 10 skills that you want.

Also calculate your speed and put that into the sheet as well as your encumbrance. Nevermind. I see that was calculated in.

Re: D&D
Oh, I get ten skill points? The character creation outline I was following said I only got 2 plus my int modifier as a fighter. Or maybe that was for levels after the first one ...
I'll work on filling in the remaining blanks on the sheet. Are those saving throws right? They look low.

As for HP. Everyone may set their starting HP as the maximum for their Hit Die + Your CON modifier. TM, you got the first half right. Fighter has a D10, so take your 10HP and add in your +2 for CON at level 1.
