OK, so the build I'm looking at is a Halfling Wizard. I was going sorcerer, but I'd rather max out INT rather than CHA, since INT will give me alot more skills, and I think those additional skills will be best to help out the party. I also dont want to be sitting around doing nothing when I run out of spells, so I'll be maxing our my DEX and carry a heavy crossbow to help deal damage. I'm passing on STR, but I'm thinking since we'll be a party and I will never really be going solo, treasure we find can be carried by someone else? The only realy drawback from my STR would be checks for grappling, jumping, swimming, that I don't plan on doing too much, but I'm interested on hearing your opinions. I left my sheets i was filling out at home, so here's the best I can remember:

    Name: Mez
    Race: Halfling
    Class: Wizard
    Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

    STR: 10 (-2) = 8
    DEX: 16 (+2) = 18
    CON: 11
    INT: 18
    WIS: 11
    CHA: 10

I get 10 + (4x2) = 18 skills, so I was putting them in alot of categories. I was putting 2 in general local knowledge and nature knowledge, not sure if we need that, but I thought it could be good to be able to know about the locality and nature? Let me know if you think that could be spent elsewhere. I spent them in all the magey areas and in the common sense areas. I dont have the whoel list, but if there are some areas you think I defintely need, let me know.

AC: 15 with no armor or mage armor (+4) which I'll probably be using
Attack bonus: +5 with heavy crossbow.

Throwing weapons use STR mod right? If so, i dont agree with that and boo... I'm picking the halfing for the +1 to all saving throws, +1 to AC for being small, +1 to attack bonus for being small, and the +4 hide bonus. Since I'm a squishy mage, I need to be able to evade as many hits as possible. I'll be hiding in behind the barrell of ale firing off crossbow bolts early on...

    Oh, and question.
    Precise Shot [General]
    Prerequisite
    Point Blank Shot.

    Benefit
You can shoot or throw ranged weapons at an opponent engaged in melee without taking the standard -4 penalty on your attack roll.

    Special
A fighter may select Precise Shot as one of his fighter bonus feats.

Does this mean if Armando is engaged with a mob, and I'm shooting a bolt from a distance at that mob's back, I take a -4 attack role penalty? That does not make sense if so...
First of all. We're using the Pathfinder rules.

Second, your stats are wildly off. I set a 28 Point limit in the point buy system.

    STR: 10 (-2) = 8
    DEX: 16 (+2) = 18
    CON: 11
    INT: 18
    WIS: 11
    CHA: 10
STR would cost you 2 points. DEX would cost you 10 points. CON would cost you 3 points. INT would cost you 16 points. WIS would cost you 3 points and CHA would cost you 2 points.

That totals to 36 points. I set a limit of 28.

Third, Pathfinder rules state that Halfling Racial Stat bonuses look like this:

    Halfling Racial Traits
+2 Dexterity, +2 Charisma, –2 Strength: Halflings are nimble and strong-willed, but their small stature makes them weaker than other races.
Fourth, your skills are off. You 10+INTmod x4 is the 3rd Edition rule for a Wizard. Pathfinder is this:

    Class Skills
The wizard's class skills are Appraise (Int), Craft (Int), Fly (Dex), Knowledge (all) (Int), Linguistics (Int), Profession (Wis), and Spellcraft (Int).

Skill Ranks per Level: 2 + Int modifier.
You may apply your appropriate stat bonus to each of the above listed skills and they are going to be the only ones you can do that for. If you place one of your skill points into a non class-specific skill, you may then apply your Stat bonus to that skill. Otherwise you get no bonuses to it at all.

As a Halfling, you also get skill bonuses into their class specific skills. Put them in the "Misc" section that skills ranking bar.

Small: Halflings are Small creatures and gain a +1 size bonus to their AC, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, a –1 penalty to their Combat Maneuver Bonus and Combat Maneuver Defense, and a +4 size bonus on Stealth checks.

Slow Speed: Halflings have a base speed of 20 feet.

Fearless: Halflings receive a +2 racial bonus on all saving throws against fear. This bonus stacks with the bonus granted by halfling luck.

Halfling Luck: Halflings receive a +1 racial bonus on all saving throws.

Keen Senses: Halflings receive a +2 racial bonus on Perception skill checks.

Sure-Footed: Halflings receive a +2 racial bonus on Acrobatics and Climb skill checks.

Weapon Familiarity: Halflings are proficient with slings and treat any weapon with the word “halfling” in its name as a martial weapon.

Languages: Halflings begin play speaking Common and Halfling. Halflings with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: Dwarven, Elven, Gnome, and Goblin.
As far as languages are concerned. Assuming your INT score is at least a 12, you know Common and Halfling right off the bat. For every 2 points above 12, you learn a new language of your choice. So say your score is 18. You may learn 3 additional languages on top of common and Halfling.

Also: Fun fact. You may not Rank your skill up any higher than your current level. That is to say... if your INT score is an 18, your Appraise would get a +4 because of it. Now assuming you decide to place one of your 4+INTmod (4)= 8 skill ranks into that, you'd only be allowed to place 1 point in it... for a total of +5 to appraise.

    Does that explain things?

Starting at 8 for each stat and buying points to increase them further.

I said that in the OP.

Also: Best campaign I've ever written.

However... I just googled bits of my plotline to see if it's been done and something kinda similar in concept has. That makes me feel weird.

On the plus side... they're the same in only 1 core aspect but in NONE of the details.
