Each person that helps me out provides either +2 to succeed on maintaining the roll or +2 to break free. If you go before me and I haven't started grappling yet then you'd just roll Aid Another to help me land the initial roll, and then you'd start grappling him too on your next turn. Only the person that started the grapple participates actively.

It would make for an interesting plot twist, but then what have we been helping him accomplish thus far? What is the bigger scheme here that we aren't seeing?

I have an idea for increasing the challenge of our combat sessions. It won't manipulate anything at all with the game mechanics or your characters... but I think it'll spice things up nicely if I can get it to work out.

I'll report back soon if I can make it work. If not... my plan will forever remain a mystery.
