Now that I've lost your attention, there's apparently more detailed information than you can shake a stick at over here.

Marth feels very nerfed. His range seems even worse than in Brawl (I was whiffing fsmashes like crazy and I'm pretty good with tippers). Aside fr his range and no ability to double fair he seems mostly the same, aside from running faster. It's his range that REALLY feels kinda killer to His melee/brawl play style.
Not sure why they did this? He was pretty in average in Brawl. Lucina may end up being pretty mediocre if she's Marth without the strong tip. Then again they buffed his Shield Breaker, which was already pretty good.

As a heads up, the entire roster has been confirmed, and Nintendo of America's streaming Smash Bros for 3DS (and other games) tomorrow.

Looking at the Dog Hunt dog, it seems like they were going for Banjo and Kazooie, but Rare (Microsoft) blocked it.

Villager might be my favorite in the demo so far

Man, the new Classic Mode boss looks pretty intense. Unfortunately I'll have to wait for the regular eShop demo next week.

It's not a whole lot. Just Mario, Link, Pikachu, Villager and Megaman. No other modes, though download play is there for local multiplayer.

Here's a pretty good demo breakdown:

I know the demo is pretty narrow, but they've done some big changes to the overall physics compared to Brawl (e.g. the edge grabbing mechanics, the speed of shields, the amount of landing lag from aerial moves) so even if it only had Mario I'd still be interested in trying it out. It was precisely those kinds of game-wide mechanic changes that killed Brawl. I'm optimistic about Smash 4 just from the fact that combos are possible again and you can't latch on to the edge automatically just by being within half a mile of it, but it'd still be nice to have more than just second-hand reports to go on.

Also Mega Man's got kind of a steep playing curve so some early practice doesn't hurt.

I don't think it's a steep learning curve with Megaman so much as he's got very little to capitalize on. He's got good recovery, but so much emphasis was placed on him having a flashy arsenal there wasn't much left for anothing actual strength. And his flashy final smash can be swiped by Villager.

MM is kinda like Snake was, actually, which begs the question of why toss out Snake to have someone just as mediocre when they could have just improved Snake. MM is going to be an underdog. I even get the feeling he's have a hard time against DHD.

I think it's too early to tell.
                            * Metal Blade is the only projectile I know of that can be fired at a 45 degree angle up or down. Diagonals are a blind spot for most characters so many won't be able to just swat it away with an aerial, and air dodging into the ground is very punishable.
                            * Hard Knuckle (his down air) is probably one of the safest and easiest meteor smashes in the game thanks to its range and not having any crazy spacing/timing requirements. Its amazing range means you can block the entire space in front of and below the stage's edge at no risk to yourself, even if the person coming back has an Up B that reaches way past the edge, like Ike.
                            * It's true that Crash Bomber can be blocked after it sticks, but it immediately diverts part of the enemy's attention span to tracking its time til detonation, and they're practically guaranteed to block/roll so it gives you a chance to grab or chase their roll.
                            * Villager can pocket pretty much everything and no one uses Final Smashes competitively so that doesn't really matter much.

Snake is top tier, and was one of the first characters that people figured out was too good along with Meta Knight and King Dedede. Most of his attacks have ridiculously disjointed hit boxes and either come out quick or hit hard. He can also spam his dash attack with impunity and cancel it into an Up Smash. His arsenal is actually the weakest part of his game, other than the grenades.

                            Everything Snake does is bullshit

Since Mega Man's close range game is pretty weak, they're almost opposites.

His A shoots lemons, his neutral aerial shoots lemons, and he has no forward tilt (he just shoots lemons while running). His Down Smash does a lot of damage but also crazy recovery. His forward/back aerials are his only melee aerial attacks and they have average range, so you won't be winning any range battles against sword wielders.

He's not one of those characters where you can point the analog stick in the enemy's direction and hit A and get fairly decent results (e.g. Sheik, Marth). You really need to know his moves and I'm betting he'll favor a very defensive, keep-away game with a focus on pushing enemies off the stage for early kills.

Interesting. That's actually somewhat disappointing because Mega Man has such a wide variety of attacks from over the years you'd think he'd be able to adapt to any playstyle, but the devs can only program in so many moves.
