PS4 & Twitch (Audio Issues) NEED HELP ASAP!

So, for anyone else with a PS4 can you help me out here?


I was all set to start streaming the BF4 campaign, except none of the audio was recorded in my test broadcast - game or Mic. I'm watching some footage the PS4 recorded from Warframe, and there's no audio loss at all only for BF4 and I don't understand why. This is incredibly vexing, I can't do a running commentary on the campaign without literally ANY sound! WTF?!

Sorry haven't had time to try out Twitch integration yet. Do you hear the audio when you review it from the Share menu?

OK, so I've concluded that it's not Sony's fault at all, but DICE - I tried watching some more footage I shot, this time not broadcasting, still no audio. It has to be the game, not Twitch/Sony. Gonna try doing a solo commentary now on Warframe to confirm.

Also it's taking some getting used to to get the swing of things on BF4 lol. I had no problems with the 360 controller, but as PS4 is all shiny and new it's taking some doing (overall I have to say I LOVE this system. I hope SOny fixes the Twitch archiving issue ASAP as well as it's really annoying).


EDIT: OK, I tried just rambling into my mic for 30 seconds with broadcasting on, nothing. It seems like the SHARE button just will not record anything you say, only the game audio... wtf?

EDIT 2: I'm not the only one.

There are rumblings of problems here and there, such as kits being duds, but the launch seems to be going smoothly overall.

Yeah my system works great overall, just this one glaring issue is a PITA and I can't for the life of me find out how to fix it.

All I know is the voice control with the new PlayStation Camera works pretty well. Playstation, Resogun, Start -> jump into the game without touching the controller.

Well, so far it's looking like to Hell with streaming and all that video nonsense until Sony fixes this shit and enables uploading to Twitch.

God damn it all. Hopefully it's all sorted out by the time InFamous and Destiny are released. In the mean time, so much for BF4 content -_-'

Stop wanting to stream BF4 single-player. Problem solved.

It's 100% garbage, anyways, so you'll be doing yourself a favor. No audio means no hearing you wonder aloud how the fuck that game ever got out of the studio.

^ that was actually going to be half the fun though, pointing out all the blatant inaccuracies and deriding the game for it.

Like that scene where they just magically cut their CO's leg off with a knife in 1 swipe - utter bullshit. Worse, they don't even do anything to stop the bleeding, drag the exposed stump across the pavement... OH and let's not forget the magical CIVILLIAN Jeep that somehow takes sustained 25mm vulcan fire like a champ and no one gets injured.

I really wanted to do MP stuff too, though.

There is - there's a very healthy YT community for BF in particular.


I just wanted to use that as a starting point though; ultimately my twitch/YT is intended as a variety channel with something for (almost) everyone, just with a focus on RPGs and Shooters as those are what I like/play most.

There is but the market is so over-saturated for it, the videos pretty much need to give you a free reach around with every viewing to give all but the most diehard fanboys reason to watch them all.

Not worth a damn until it replicates "Tea, Earl Grey, Hot" on command.

Resogun does look fun, though. Watched Phil from Destructoid play some of it, Contrast, Killzone and Knack on Twitch on Friday. I don't think he streamed internally from the PS4, though, and just did it the old fashioned way.

Killzone looked pretty good, too. Dunno if the multiplayer is for me, but what I saw of the SP campaign looked pretty solid.

I liked the quickness of the menu interface, too, though I had experienced a bit of that myself with the in-store units. Very slick, very clean - way better than the PSP/PS3 XMB was. My feelings about the controller are about the same as the DS3 - the L2/R2 buttons have too much give to them, but I do like that the shoulder buttons are spaced more like those found on the 360 controller. Good controller otherwise, though.

Would people really watch a multi-player stream? The game is either fast and random (TDM/Domination) or slow with a lot of down time (Rush/Conquest/Obliteration) with a sweet spot of meaningful action that's typically hard to find. Compared to something like LoL, where everything down to killing minions matters in the long run, BF4 seems like it would be a lot less interesting to watch.
