Is it me or is this beta build garbage? The game doesn't look anything like the promos, even at max graphical settings, and the performance is terrible. It takes five or so minutes just to load, and I'm running it off a solid state drive.

As for game-play, it feels a lot slow and more deliberate. I noticed I'm not fighting muzzle climb as much as I would in Battlefield 3. Right now, the only map that's available, feels like a Call of Duty map instead of a Battlefield map.

EA put out a disclaimer already saying that the beta does not represent how the final build will look and everything is subject to change. And a lot of people are reporting problems on the PC version, including the game spiking RAM use anywhere from 1.6~7 GB dramatically slowing down their machines and getting only 15 FPS.

I've only played it on the 360 so far and aside from some no-connectivity issues at one point in the night, it's been running flawlessly. I'm really liking the game overall. One huge change I've noticed that was never confirmed until now is they finally fixed bullet drop - it's nowhere near as pronounced as it was in BF3. Sadly the domination map they have doesn't have too many spots where sniping is all that helpful (I haven't tried conquest yet). Still, really liking the game and the majority of the changes. The Medic nerf may be the best thing they've done for the series in some time.

The main issue I have with BF4 so far is that they are reducing the Combined Arms experience to go more for the Infantry experience... But I don't play Battlefield to run around as an Infantryman... If I wanted to run around with no vehicles I would play any of the thousands of Modern Military Shooters out there. Or just say fuck it and buy the latest Call of Duty.

You play Battlefield for the Combined Arms experience and I'm disappointed that it seems de-emphasised so far.

That said I'm glad they killed off 64 Man Rush. That mode can die in a fucking fire. It was nothing but a zergfest and was completely unfun.

But yeah overall it feels like Call of Duty. But if I wanted to play Call of Duty, I'd just buy Call of Duty...

OK, so the beta's caused my Xbox to freeze no less than 8 times so far, which is bullshit.

I have a number of issues now that I've had a chance to play the game proper.

- The spawns are godawful. I haven't seen spawns this bad since Resistance, wtf. At least half if not more of my deaths are due to people spawning behind me.

- The hit detection is COMPLETELY fucked up. Like, COD bad. I'm regularly getting killed in seemingly 1 bullet why it takes a full magazine to kill other people (if I even get a kill).

- Controls are all screwed up. BF3's were fine and didn't need changing.

- There needs to be some kind of indicator on the minimap if an enemy is either above or below you.

Anybody playing? I love that when a helicopter drops flares the HUD attempts to lock onto them as if they were each an aircraft.

Eh I'm kind of bored of Modern Military Shooters. Waiting for CoD: Ghost and seeing what most of my friends get between the two to decide if I want to buy one or not.
