      Things of note:

Price drop on PS Vita - $200 and 200 Euros, and I think I heard them say there'd be a price drop on the memory as well but can't confirm that atm.

Launch Date is set for Nov 15, 2013.

PS4 will be able to stream directly via TwitchTV - SUCK ON THAT XBONE! This announcement alone made my day.

Most of it was meh, but news of actual price drops for Vita memory cards was nice. I guess they realized what stopped Vitas from moving off the shelves - now the just need actual retail games to sell on it.

Borderlands 2 is a nice start and I'll get that, but its still just a port.

Edit: I take it back about the the so-called "significant" price drop on memory cards. The only real improvement was to the price of 4 and 8GB card at $15 and $20 respectively. the 16 and 32GB cards are $40 and $80, to which I say "Fuck off, Sony."

Also, both the PS4 and Xbox One launch lineups are weak. Most of what is on offer is going to be on current gen consoles, so what was the point of these two coming out this year?

8GB Vita card for $20 is a very good price. The 32GB... not so much.

PS4 and Vita got a toooooooooon of game announcements today. I just got home from work and am still trying to get caught up but the launch slate for PS4 looks significantly better than it did yesterday.

PS4 launch window games (2013) looks something like this now:

          Retail:
          Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag
          Battlefield 4
          Call of Duty: Ghosts
          DriveClub
          FIFA 14
          Just Dance 2014
          Killzone: Shadow Fall
          Knack
          LEGO Marvel Super Heroes
          Madden NFL 25
          NBA 2K14
          NBA LIVE 14
          Need for Speed: Rivals
          Skylanders: Swap Force
          Watch Dogs

          Digital:
          Basement Crawl
          Blacklight: Retribution
          Contrast
          Counterspy
          DC Universe
          Doki-Doki Universe
          Flower
          Hohokum
          Minecraft
          N++
          Pinball Arcade
          Planetside 2
          Pool Nation Extreme
          ResoGun
          Super Motherload
          Tiny Brains
          Warframe
          War Thunder

I think Sony's making the right move for Vita; push it hard as a digital game paradise, instead of just a PS4 accessory. Price drop helps it too, and it may just have found its killer app in Minecraft. I don't understand why everyone and their brother buys Minecraft, but its sales power is undeniable, and the Vita version will be the only portable version. Time will tell if that ends up being something people want.

ResoGun in particular tickles all my gamer buttons. It's from Housemarque, the guys that did Super Stardust HD, and... well...

          It's like Defender, 2013 edition.

EDIT: Wow @ Rime GamesCom trailer

Its not a kilker app when practically every platform has it also 8GB cards are nice, but they're still extremely limited in terms of space. Three PSX Final Fantasy games eats half of it, so you are stillgoing to see plenty of Vita's clunky Content Manager on PC of fiddling with PS3/PS4 storage.

A wave of secondhand PC indie games will not help Vita in retail.

But none of those other platforms are portable. Minecraft is like the ultimate time-waster, and a portable version should be very appealing.

Considering you can buy multiples of them and just swap them in depending on what you'd like to play, I'd say that's a good compromise, and certainly a better deal than what we had a day ago. 32GB card is still highway robbery though.

Maybe, maybe not. The fact that the Vita already plays better games than 99% of mobile devices (aside from the 3DS) and is getting a bunch of new functionality is the best chance it has at getting some market traction outside of Japan.

I'm not convinced that Sony's going to turn the Vita ship around either, but this is the best choice they could have made under the circumstances.

EDIT: In related news, PS4 is now completely sold out on Amazon.com, even the non-launch day Standard edition.

I agree that the lack of a price drop on the higher end memory cards sucks, but I still think today was pretty sweet overall.

Personally the Twitch announcement is what mattered most - makes me just ever so happy in the pants

Rime does look pretty cool, but I'm not touching Vita for a while - money's really hurting lately.
