News: Asda suspends Wii U stock - ComputerAndVideoGames.com

ASDA's response:
Seems early to be pulling support for Wii U just as it is (finally) getting some worthwhile releases, but if other UK retailers follow suit, the Wii U is in deep trouble.
It's worth noting that ASDA is owned by Wal-Mart. While Wal-Mart subsidiaries are able to selectively stock items based on regional demand, there is always the danger of a corporate level directive to discontinue sale throughout the chain.
At least this won't affect 3DS sales, so it's not some sort of axe to grind on the company, but Iwata and company had best hurry up and find some killer apps for the Wii U, as they're running out of time faster than expected.
