As a consumer, I don't accept that as an excuse. I hold the entire team responsible.
If that really is the case then the entire company deserves to go down in flames with nary a tear shed at its passing.Server: Midgardsormr -> Quetzalcoatl -> Valefor

Re: Xbox Reveal
YES!!!! I love how he threw Dishonored in there, omg total bait and switch...
But yeah, very rarely have I tried a demo and gone "Yeah, I wanna buy this" at least not recently - honestly, the last time that happend was with Valkyria Chronicles. Barely 3 minutes and I was like "Yeah, I'm pre-ordering this right away."
Kingdom of Amalur almost did it for me, as it was honestly a pretty decent demo in terms of length and quality, but in the end I passed on it.
Actually, Walking Dead had me sold as well - but I HATE episodic content, so I waited until the full release and sure enough, after episode 5 came out, 2~5 went on sale at 1/2 price and that's when I snagged 'em all.

Re: Xbox Reveal
I think Sony's got the right idea with Full Game Trials on PlayStation+. You get an entire hour of no-restrictions gameplay, no strings attached. I think that's also going to be part of their new PlayGo initiative, where you can basically partially download a game or partially install a game and start playing before it's even down downloading or installing (The Last of Us on PS3 is the first game that will have this feature, interestingly enough). This requires little to no extra effort or cost on the part of the developers, which saves money and resources for the full game, and because it's the full game code, there's no risk of a bait and switch since you're playing release code.

Also, looks like Xbox One got an exclusive announced today:
Fantasia: Music Evolved, made by Harmonix (creators of Guitar Hero and Rock Band)
...yeah. I love Harmonix, but I don't think anyone really wanted a cross between Dance Central and Wii Music.
Speaking of exclusives, Microsoft said they have 15 exclusives, with 8 new IPs among them, coming to Xbox One in its first year.
Here's a quick guess at what's known:
Known:
Exclusive to Xbox (New IP):
Quantum Break from Remedy
Fantasia: Music Evolved from Harmonix
Ryse from Crytek
Exclusive to Xbox (Sequel):
Forza 5 from Turn 10
I'll add Crimson Dragon to the New IPs list since an X360 demo was accidentally released briefly in Japan last year and the game was never heard from again.
That begs the question of what the other games on Microsoft's "launch year" window of exclusives are. It's a fair assumption to bet that Halo and Gears will appear there in some form in the sequels list.
Has anyone else seen anything that would qualify?

Re: Xbox Reveal
I'm gonna have to agree with uh, I think it was Final Bosman over at GT who said it, that we'll be lucky if even half of those IPs come out the 1st year - 15 is quite a lot especially if 8 of them are new.
Speaking of new IPs, Remember Me is getting crapped on rather hard, which is shame - There Capcom goes trying a new IP for once and it just doesn't do that well. Yet another case of an interesting concept plagued with problems on implementation (one of the worst being the constant resetting of not only progress but MENU SETTINGS if you die, wtf Capcom...)

"I hold the entire team responsible," reads to me as, "It's everyone's fault for working on the game as a team with hierarchical restrictions."
Either way, you take the lead position, you take responsibility for the fuck ups. That's how it is in adult world. No finger pointing at the peons. As the boss, you should be able to find weak points and correct it for the good of the project and company. As Square-Enix did by letting some people go.Last edited by Etra; 06-04-2013, 12:23 PM.sigpic
