More to the point, Sony don't have - nor do they try to maintain - that squeaky clean family friendly image that Nintendo clings to (despite your denials to the contrary).

Given how sexist and patronising Nintendo's advertising was a few years ago in Europe, I'm actually inclined to agree with Icemage here. They are frankly backwards in that regard and are as bad as Sony and Microsoft were 10 years ago with how insulting some of their ads were (Implying that women and girls only care about and want to pay Animal Crossing? Nice one there Nintendo!).

And now suddenly I'm remembering that billboard (for the PSP I think?) that Sony had to pull because it showed a white woman dominating a black one.


And the PS3 baby... dear God WHY!?!!? DAMN YOU, MAKING ME REMEMBER THAT TRIPPY ASS COMMERCIAL!

I think the ads that BBQ posted lasted about a week before they were pulled down. My post was more pointing out that NoE are still doing the stupid publicity stunt things while Sony and Nintendo are finally cutting down on that crap. Need I remind anyone of the shit Sony ended up in at the God of War III launch party?

We did have a dead baby flying into a coffin one for the XBox but I don't think we got one for the PS3. There have also been Playstation 3 ads that look like something out of a Nine Inch Nails music video.

Either way the UK has people who seem to only ever watch TV for something to be offended by. In both of the below examples the "something to be offended by" is "Anything that doesn't fit a right wing, social conservative Christian ideal, no matter what it is."
