It's also a lot cheaper to import, too. The only downside is the wait :I

Re: Potential Release Date for Persona 4 Arena in Europe

Another Teaser Pic was released by Zen United today:

General reaction was "Holy crap a Nanako figure would be awesome!" but Zen United had to come out and confirm that we aren't getting a Nanako figurine. Labrys or Risette figure seems to be most likely given that those figures are in the same set. They did also announce that this is Europe-wide, this is not a Retailer only thing which is actually great given that GAME is only in the UK and Scandinavia now after they went into administration.

Zen United have cheered up the fanbase a considerably with this teaser, and if it's true that the EU is getting Persona figures in their Limited Edition boxes then I can see there being a lot of happy fans since Zen really will be delivering on their promise of "Something nice" for the wait. Atlus merchandise very, very, very rarely reaches the EU and is prohibitively expensive to import, so being able to get your hands on anything like this is a very big fucking deal for the EU fans.

Well, they made it worth the wait for EU. You get Vinyl soundtracks and figuries.

I just got a soundtrack CD and a bruised ego.

Well the Vinyl Soundtrack thing caused controversy due to it being a Retailer Exclusive Pre Order Bonus available to only to the UK and the bits of Scandinavia that still has a GAME. It's not that people didn't think it was worth the wait, it was more they did the equivalent of showing everyone this very cool and awesome collector's item to the entire NA Fanbase and then saying "Oh yeah you can only buy this if you live in Ontario" or something.

Throwing this in since it's relevant to the subject and the people interested in it are likely also the ones following this thread:

NIS America Tell Us About Their European Publishing Arrangement With Atlus | Siliconera

Basically NISA are negotiating with Atlus to publish more Atlus games here. Given that Europe only had to wait three months for them to localise P4G and it looks like a similar wait for Etrian Odyssey IV, people are really excited about this since NISA has a VERY good track record over here with more only localising games for all of Europe quickly but also not breaking things like Ghostlight.

NISA also are unique in that they count European Imports as European Sales. Not that they need to given they they have an excellent record now of getting games as close to the US release date as possible for a company of their size so we rarely have a long wait for NISA Developed or Published games any more.

So after some major screw ups with P4A and Devil Survivor Overclocked, things are starting to look much brighter for Atlus fans in the EU/Australia.

Re: Potential Release Date for Persona 4 Arena in Europe

Basically for £60 or $91 you get the following:
              • The Screen Printed Midnight Channel tote bag
              • 300 piece P4A Jigsaw
              • Original Arrange Soundtrack CD
              • Teddie and Midnight Channel double Keyring
              • Chie's badge set
              • Persona 4 Arena
              • Digital Fan Pack
              • Original Arrange Soundtrack Vinyl (UK only from GAME)

The game itself is £40 or $61 and you basically just get the game and soundtrack CD. Prices are steep but hey, we're finally getting the game! We no longer have to dodge P4A spoilers that may or may not be canon on any Persona/SMT/Atlus forum

Funnily enough after showing this video to my sisters (also huge Persona fans) they seemed most excited about the Jigsaw Puzzle and Badges and are begging me to pre-order the LE purely so they can steal those

EDIT: The LE does ship worldwide so I guess if you want the stuff and don't mind spending over $90 and whatever extra it is for shipping you can get this stuff in the US. Not too sure about the vinyl though.

Atlus is getting better about the LEs. Catherines was a bit iffy, but this and SMT IV's are quite nice. The asking price is reasonable on both.

I've not seen SMT IV's yet, well other than the SMT 3DS XL picture that was put up on Destructoid (I think). That looks really cool.

As for the Vinyl, UK Exclusive bonuses are unfortunately very common with Games, Flims and Music because it is most expensive to buy from the UK. Publishers, Record Companies and Film Studios basically go for incentives like that for people to buy the more expensive UK versions. You see it with albums all the time, there might be UK exclusive tracks or even tracks outright missing. a DVD might have features that are only in the UK version etc. It's also done to discourage people from importing from Japan, the US or the EU Mainland since all three are cheaper. Basically the UK gets special treatment because it maximises profits, that is all really. It also really wouldn't surprise me if that is also why we got Xenoblade/Last Story/Pandora's Tower first as well: to stop imports from the US and see how many US gamers were willing to import from the UK.

Anyway it really would not surprise me at all if you could ship that vinyl as well though I have no idea what GAME's policies on international shipping are.

Re: Potential Release Date for Persona 4 Arena in Europe

Quick addition: on Friday Zen announced on their Facebook Page that the price for the LE of persona 4 Arena was a typo. It is actually £50 not £60 which is pretty awesome since it means that the whole thing costs $76 rather than $91. Everyone who pre-ordered the game from Zen before this had their £10 (about $15.24 according to today's exchange rate) refunded and they joked about firing the person responsible for the typo.

So yeah I would say it's definitely worth the money now. If GAME are stocking the Limited Edition then you should be able to get the vinyl too for the same price.

Plus they put up a nice official picture of the whole LE:
