  • Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge gets greater gameplay and content. PS3 and Xbox 360 :)

While waiting for FFXIV ARR Ninja news, I found some ninja related mew mew news!! Very mewiful improvements!! =^^=

And it's not the same thing as Wii U RE, it's reworked and expanded further, mew.
(it deserves a new subtitle, like Ninja Gaiden 3 Purrrfected, which basically means Ninja Gaiden 3: Perfected!! )

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge will be available at both retail and through digital distribution.

It’s launching on April 2 in North America and April 5 in Europe.

Tecmo Koei Europe Explains why Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge Content Isn't Available as DLC, Game is "Definitely Not a Full Retail Price"

"Razor’s Edge will be the standalone game because it’s different than Ninja Gaiden 3 (redone engine and tons of new content) so it’s impossible to patch or make the content to DLC with that many changes. "

Gaming Everything Blog Archive Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge PS3/360 confirmed for North America and Europe

NINJA GAIDEN 3: RAZOR’S EDGE features additional playable characters, a new gameplay mode, a redesigned battle system with enhanced enemy AI, a robust Ninja Skills upgrade system, expanded online features including bonus content, and a host of other features. The game is scheduled to launch both at retail and via digital download on the 5th of April 2013.

“NINJA GAIDEN 3: RAZOR’S EDGE is the most action-packed and feature rich NINJA GAIDEN game ever created,” said Yosuke Hayashi, Team NINJA leader. “The brutal combat will challenge the hardest of hardcore NINJA GAIDEN fans while also rewarding them with tons of bonus content and new features including three playable female characters, new stages, and three times as many Ninja Trial missions.”

NINJA GAIDEN 3: RAZOR’S EDGE was designed from the ground up to satisfy core action fans with a redesigned battle system, improved enemy AI, the greatly reduced interactive QTE scenes, and the return of dismemberment.

Even with severed arms or legs, enemies will fight on and players will find they have to change attacks on the fly to win brutally tough battles—the challenge level leaves little room for error. The Ninja Skills systems lets players use Karma earned in combat to freely purchase weapon and Ninpo upgrades, feats, and costumes. Adding to the variety of gameplay, Kasumi, Ayane, and Momiji all join Hayabusa as playable characters. Ayane will get her own chapters in Story Mode while all three female characters can be played in the new Chapter Challenge mode and Ninja Trials co-op play with multiple costume options.

Chapter Challenge mode is available with ten chapters including all-new Ayane stages. In this mode, players will compete for the highest score possible in each chapter of the story. Six brutal weapons are available to Hayabusa throughout the game, including the new Jinran-Maru & Blade of the Archfiend dual swords, Lunar Staff, and Kusari-gama. Additionally, Inferno, Wind Blades, and Piercing Void have been added as deadly new Ninpo. In the new Tests of Valor challenge, players who find Crystal Skulls hidden in each level will be transported to face off in skill-testing battles with familiar bosses from the NINJA GAIDEN series.

The online features in NINJA GAIDEN 3: RAZOR’S EDGE have been greatly expanded, with all the previously paid DLC from NINJA GAIDEN 3 available as a bonus. The Ninja Skills upgrade system works online to let players use Karma to purchase 64 customizable features for the Unknown Ninja used in multiplayer Clan Battles. Supporting up to eight players, five brand new Clan Battle stages have been added. Players can use all of Hayabusa’s weapons and Ninpo in Clan Battles, giving them access to their favorite methods of attack.

The number of missions in Ninja Trials has been tripled to a total of 100, and all four playable characters—Hayabusa, Ayane, Momiji, and Kasumi—can be used in this co-op mode.

This. Can't polish a turd. This is not the sort of "exclusive" the Wii U needs in any case.

Wii U could have used Rayman Legends, but Ubi Soft decided to delay it for seven months three weeks before launch and go multiplatform with it in September.

So its going to be a failure on three platforms in September instead of possibly a modest success on one in March where it just had Monster Hunter as competition.

How dare a developer go multiplatform with a game to maximise profits!

Have you seen what's waiting for them in September? We're only starting to get an idea of how September will shape up, but if most of it stays on track that game is going to be slaughtered.

This is a mistake UbiSoft makes time and time again, but they do it because the holidays seem so safe - its the exact reason we didn't see actual Rayman games for years. They put out these games in the Fall line-up and they got decimated. We can trace this trend all the way back to Beyond Good and Evil and Prince of Persia.

Agree with BBQ. Rayman Legends for Wii U was already finished - it was set to release in 3 weeks. Granted, the Wii U install base is small, but it really wouldn't have made any difference whether they launched the Wii U version as planned. It's not like they're going to get more sales in September on the other platforms (except maybe a handful of cannibalized sales from pissed off Wii U owners).

The big losers in this situation are Nintendo (who could use every helping hand they can get with the Wii U), Wii U owners (who now have a whole lot of nothing to look forward to next month aside from yet another port), and the actual developers, who crunched for months to get this game ready for Wii U launch window, only to see all that overtime made pointless by the seven month delay.

yeah I was thinking of getting Rayman........ but now it will have to wait until I can get is second hand. Now I will just be getting Monster Hunter 3U and Pandora's Tower (still counts right? ;p) and Rayman can wait a year or so.

I have to wonder if anyone would even want to work for UbiSoft after that kind of crunch time with little contact with family, only to see all that overtime and possibly strained relationships be for nothing. I'd imagine its enough to make you want to go indie and be allowed to work at your own pace.

On topic: If you really care about a good or at least decent Ninja Gaiden game, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 lands on Vita at the end of the month.

On the topic of Rayman, this sums up Ubi Soft's hypocrisy rather well:

Vita is not a good or even decent platform, mew.

and the Vita Sigma 2 doesn't even have things like 100 online co-op missions, or Kasumi.

Well, except the prior two NG games weren't shit and even the constantly berated DmC runs circles around how stupid NG3 is. Ninja Gaiden has never, ever been about "teh co-op" either.

Its inclusion is just another reason why the game was so utterly compromised as a single-player game (that and reintegrating all the DLC weapons into the game that were cut from the original PS3 and 360 releases). You won't understand this, of course, you just want to hit things with people you don't know online.

Oh mew!!!! You have such a segregated and antisocial perspective, WTFBBQ!!!! I'm surprised you played FFXI Online.

And you are so old fashioned, talking about "Ninja Gaiden has never been about co-op. That's like saying Ninja Gaiden was never about primary weapons other than the Dragon Sword (which 3D NG oh so innovates the genre further with more weapons and characters)

Ninja Gaiden has thankfully expanded outside the box instead of only catering to the conservative fanbase.

online co-op does make Ninja Gaiden more fun for more people.

Co-op is much more exciting and feels more rewarding!

Razor's Edge makes Ninja Gaiden better than it ever has been.
