    Mal, it amazes me you link me to the Bill Moyers video (already saw it last week) and then you're doing cartwheels over Gaikai.

      It's official. I could have done without hearing any of these guys speak. I can't take them serious with their super thick accents. Goddamn do i respect their work... but man... these accents.

              SE is showing off Agni's Philosophy again?

              Oh right, its SE. They wouldn't have an actual game to show.

              And please be excited for a Final Fantasy game at E3... nothing to show now!

                    what the crap, no BF4, no Vita info?

                    EDIT: Really don't like that PS4 won't play PS3 games. Their Gaikai solution had best work well.

                      Re: PlayStation Meeting Feb. 20: See the future

                      Tons of missed opportunities all through tha presentation. A lot of this would have been better done in a pre-recorded presentation like Nintendo's been doing, that way people who speak foreign languages don't feel so awkward on-stage, they can be dubbed or subbed over and we get a coherent presentation.

                      Promising me off-screen play at an added cost *well, the cost is done in my case, but still) after failing to deliver with PSP?Vita and PS3 on Remote Play is also pretty shifty of them. Will they actually get it right with PS4 or will they fail to deliver again?

                      The social media stuff is neat, I can respect what they're doing there - at least most of it. That said they need to drop Facebook integration for trophies. No one wants to see that shit.

                      They didn't answer the digital library question at all. If they think repurchasing licenses through Gaikai is going to work, though, they can think again. Its going to be a failure because even the nations with the best fiber optic infrastructure will have latancy and possibly bandwidth caps. Those digital downloads need to remain in-play as an alternative. PSOne and PS2 classics should be a given, but PSN games should be as well. Kinda fucked up if they don't make the jump at all.

                      Nothing about Vita, not even a mention of a US price drop after the Japan announcement - that's an epic fail. Worse is they didn't preview any new western Vita software.

                      I came away thinking Deep Down, Watch Dogs and Destiny all look nice, but I had that opinion of two of them before this. In the end, I'm still just going to build a PC and likely ignore PS4. its going to take something like a Persona 5 to make me change my mind and given where Atlus places its attention, i don't believe it will be on next gen consoles.. Maybe games they publish for others, though. I see Persona 5 being more practical for PS3/360/Wii U or Vita at this point.

                        Re: PlayStation Meeting Feb. 20: See the future

                        * I don't know who managed to convince Sony to engineer 8GB GDDR5 memory, or how they managed to engineer it, but they deserve 10 raises. That is going to pay off in spades.

                        * Share button is awesome.

                        * Asking a friend for help on a hard part? That's like cheating. Do not want. Earn your own stripes, scrubs!

                        * I can understand PS3 compatibility not being software emulatable, but seriously PSOne? We don't need Gaikai for that. Everything on the planet can emulate PS1, and the PS4 should be able to powerlift a PS2 with ease.

                        * Don't give a crap about FB/Twitter/yadda/yadda integration. As long as I can turn that crap off so I don't annoy actual people, I guess it's fine.

                        * Vita price drop in Japan is probably a testing-the-waters thing. Not surprising they said nothing else on it until they get some sales numbers to see what the market reaction is.

                        * Deep Down looks like The Matrix collided with Dragon's Dogma. Pretty cool, actually.

                        * Surprised to see Jonathan Blow announce The Witness as an exclusive. I know he got PO'd at Microsoft after Braid, but this much?

                        * Everyone was expecting EA (including me). This leads me to believe that EA is going to be present in force at E3, or is being purchased by Microsoft (lol).

                        * Watch_Dogs coming to Wii U was sort of a mild surprise. The only question is if it will run about as terribly as Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop on the Wii. Open world seems to be the Wii U's weakest suit given its setup, so this was a genuine surprise to me.

                        * Yawnkillzone.

                        * Diablo 3 and Destiny from Actiblizzard were as predictable as the sun rising in the morning.

                        * F U Square-Enix.

                        Does that about cover it?

                          Re: PlayStation Meeting Feb. 20: See the future

                          I'm betting EA wasn't there because they're waiting for E3, polishing their stuff. At least I HOPE that's the case, because they said on GT right before the show that DICE had just shown Gamestop some footage of BF4. Plus EA's been doing Sony exlcusive stuff since Dead Space 2 and I doubt they're going to break that. Bungie & Blizzard coming out with Sony only stuff was a major shock though, given the close relationship of CoD with MS (speaking of which, if there's a CoD @ launch for PS4 and it's out before the new xbox, that is going to give Sony massive momentum)

                          So aside from EA being MIA (and no Vita stuff) my only real complaint/disappointment was SE. Honestly, there's no excuse for that horse shit. Why the fuck did you fly out THE SERIES DIRECTOR FOR FINAL FANTASY of all people, just to say "Look forward to E3" ?! No honestly, what the fuck was that about?! They basically trolled us on company dollars are you kidding me! (meanwhile poor Yoshi P is passed out on the floor grasping a can of redbull rofl...)

                          Well, E3 ain't until June so... ugh. The Ball's in Microsoft's court now.

                          Oh, and speaking of MS: If you ever have Usher at one of your events ever again I will furiously boycott your shit for life. (See: the horror that was last year's E3)

                            Diablo 3 was kind of a surprise, but only in that Blizzard is usually "How do I video game consoles?" most of the time with games like that. Diablo was always a natural fit for consoles, but the fact they're coming now after tremendous backlash in the PC community really just tells me they're looking for new people to sucker.

                            Sony shouldn't be taking their time with Vita, though. Its reaching a critical phase and people didn't buy it for it to be a slave to PS4. Nintendo got on that feedback in six months and now that massive list of third party support that was promised for Vita has begun to dry up.

                              8GB of ram? for a console? not needed at all, 4 would have been fine.....
                              that controller..... please tell me it is a prototype, as it looks horrible.

                                4GB probably would have been fine, to be truthful, since its super fast GDDR5. But more means that you can do some craaaaazy things like load entire levels before they're entered while the player is still in one area (i.e. no loading screens!), bigger draw distance for open world games (GTA, Elder Scrolls, etc.). Also means you can do really massively crazy stuff like millions of objects (can you imagine Katamari Damacy like that?).

                                If it means I never have to see another freaking elevator again like in Mass Effect, I am all for it.

                                It's clunky, but it's an obvious prototype. The Wii U prototype shown off at last year's E3 wasn't exactly like the release model either.
