I'm at a loss for words because J9 is at a loss for reason.

Name me one mechanic in this game that's original and not a ripoff. Just name me 1 and provide proof it exists. Do this without referencing a comparison to some other long forgotten relic of a game or an equally blatant ripoff.

95% of the books you suggest are mediocre. At this point we're not judging the books, we're judging your tastes. You squandered the benefit of the doubt the third time you rushed to the forums with "the greatest game ever."

It's just a Mega Man clone with pretty graphics and a totally cut-and-paste art style. I'd be more impressed if it built upon Mega Man gameplay instead of repackaging it in a thin anime wrapper.

Ahhhh you are missing the point. It's not about reinventing or introducing new mechanics, it's about playing something that uses a gameplay format some people like and introducing a new world and flavor of enjoying that kind of gameplay.

I'm not sure what comparisons would help people understand.

It's like how different car companies basically use very similiar framework for the same type of car (4 wheels, 4 doors, headlights, taillights, windows, etc.) . They have a different exterior, but still built to run the same basically and follow similiar guidelines, mew.

okay I will give you a challenge. Prove to us that every single stage in Rosenkreuzstilette Freudenstachel is designed exactly the same as a MM game out there. You may find rooms and layouts that borrow from MM stages, but no single stage is a 100% copy paste of a MM game.

Try to prove that statement as false if you can.

besides, if you cared to watch the playthrough, you could get an idea that maybe these people did more work and dedicated more time and effort than you would like to imagine? Maybe it even uses it's own code entirely from scratch like SOR Remake from Bomber Games:

I like how the game looks and the voices, but I wouldn't pay more than ¥600 for it. There are way better games that cost less on Steam. <_<

If I get the urge to play something that vaguely reminds me of Megaman, but has its own ideas as well, I'll just play this:

Its a time attack platformer. Collect the 5 escaped convict girls and then report to your robo-vehicle dude.

Thanks for reminding me of that game. I saw the trailer the other day and I was like "I want that." Just gotta get me a 3DS first. The older games in the Mighty series looked pretty interesting too.
